It will work on any tank that uses the universal 5 bolt sending unit. I was looking at using it on a truck that needed a new sending unit. Did some reading and I think Holley may still have some bugs to work out. I saw many happy users but saw many people that were having the same problem so I don’t think it’s just user error. It’s a slick unit and once all the bugs are out it’ll be a game changer.

In theory, should work fine.
But I would wait until it has a couple years on the market. I can see that a few bugs might be in the original design.

I saw that too. It does say will work with Dakota digital gauges.

Taking a guess, since it is a digital transducer, readings done in pulses. The signal back is probably digital as well. Probably frequency or duty cycle. Less likely to have a corrupted signal.

I've never determined if the Tanks Inc version is an ISSPRO knockoff or a repackaged ISSPRO unit. In any case, I'm really happy with my ISSPRO model that came with my WH M1A1 tank. I think Lick Creek/Duff's also use one in their tank. It's nice to have a fairly accurate fuel gauge again. When my gauge gets to 'E', I know I have about 3 gallons left, which is just about right in my book.

Classic Instruments uses a repackaged ISSPRO. Says it right on the sender.

ISSPRO is good stuff. They do OEM work as well. Completely see there products being rebadged.
I have yet to find a better gauge for the price in the aftermarket stuff as well. And USA made as well.

Any way to use that in a stock ‘77 plastic tank? I’m in the market for a new sender.

No.
That is aftermarket top mount that uses a 5-bolt attachment pattern. Common aftermarket stuff, different from the OEM side install O-ring and retainer. Trying to drill a hole in the top of the tank and getting the plastic to seal makes this a no-go.
