how do you build high pressure with only a 12-15 psi radiator cap?

It's a pressure differential between the block side and radiator side of the thermostat.
The theory is this increased coolant pressure helps to eliminate hot spots on the block and heads.

Thanks for the added info. I have an Explorer version out in the garage myself. Guess I'll have to dig the timing cover out of the pile-o-parts and see how they mate up.

The guy that got in touch with me earlier this week has a Mustang frt dress so his Flowkooler is for a Mustang 5.0. He said after talking with me earlier this week that after pressing it more it now doesn't rub on the TC cover and he's good to go.

gr8scott- excellent read for sure. I remember using some of that info and passing it on to my autoshop students a looooong time ago!
