I have a 1992 rebuilt ford roller motor from a Ford Pickup I am installing in my Bronco with a reground Enginetech ES759 Cam shaft.

I am trying to confirm the firing order of 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8.

Any thoughts would be appreciate,

Chris

Do you have the cam card for the new cam? That will list the correct firing order.
Searching didn't show a specific firing order and listed multiple applications for the cam that I cannot verify the firing order is the same for all applications.

Based on the thread it would have the older firing order 1,5,4,2,6,3,7,8?

Cam card would be the true answer.......The thread seems to indicate "early" firing order......I personally have no idea.... :( Just passing along what I found. Never heard of that cam before.
Early firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
(HO) firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Since a 4 stroke V8 fires cylinders at each 90 degree increment of crankshaft rotation it would be quite easy to observe a particular event on cylinder number 1 (like intake valve beginning to open) then watch for that same event on cylinders 3 and 5 after the crankshaft is turned an additional 90 degrees. One of those cylinders will do exactly the same thing and that will get you the first 2 numbers of the firing order.

Thanks for the insite. I had some corks in the cylinders holes rotated the engine and they popped 1,5,4. so I should be good to go the esrly firing order.

Corks in the spark plug holes and watch what order they pop out. I like it!

Since the answer is now known, did you know there is a 3rd firing order for a small block ford? 1-8-7-3-6-2-4-5
It is used in the reverse rotation marine engines. I have one in my garage. Just for you trivia buffs.
