I noticed the CV Joint tips hitting the raised weld around the driveshaft after installing a 3 1/2" lift kit. Has anyone seen this problem. I didn't happen with my other Bronco. Should I just grind the driveshaft welds down some?
I think I'd opt for grinding the welds, that small amount won't weaken the shaft at all. Grinding the yoke would definetly weaken it, causing it to "open" up under heavy load. Ideally, I'd recommend tweaking the front diff, and transfer case. ...might lose a little caster..I've run as little as 1 degree pos.: vehicle drove like a Lincoln at 70+, and it was a purpose built 90% off-road, and 10% on....just my opinion, that and a couple bucks will git ya a cup o'coffee.
