Fuel Filter Location

I am plumbing a electric fuel pump, installed on the driver frame rail between aux and main. I also have an electronic selector valve just in front of the pump. Should there be a filter on both lines before the valve, or should there only be one filter up in the engine bay before it enters the carb? I don't know how fragile the selector valve or pump are to water or particulates.

I'd use just one filter at the carb. Your fuel tank should already have a screen on the pick-up to protect the pump and valve.
More filters won't make the fuel any cleaner.
More filters make troubleshooting more difficult.
More filters restrict the fuel flow.

Factory pickup have a filter sock in the tank. A coarse prefilter before the pump. If running an aftermarket tank it probably doesn't have one of these, just a pickup tube. In that case I like to run a coarse prefilter before the pump to help protect the pump. I also prefer a filter per tank. I have had a filter clog on a trip and made it home on the other tank before.

And always a good filter between the pump and the carb. Pumps can generate trash as they run.
