got a 5.0 out of an explorer. doing the swap. I have the fuel rail feed line and return line. They both had quick disconnect fuel lines about a foot off of the motor. I would like to use these connections. I am wondering if the aftermarket makes these fittings with a hose barb or some kind of fitting.
Anyone done this?

Thanks

Aftermarket does exist. I've just gone junkyard picking with my disconnect tools and side cutters. There are 2 sizes and randomly male or female. Look at all ford cars as well. Snip the plastic feed line and later you can peel it back to a standard barb fitting.

I think my last pick was off a 3.0 Taraus that was sitting in my own back yard after my grandmother blew the engine.

X2 on Bowsher's recommendation for the junkyard solution for the barbed fittings. At those connections you'll often find a regular piece of rubber fuel line that you'll cut off to expose the nylon/plastic line that Tim mentions. The disconnect tools are red and blue.

If you desire -6 AN adapters, to those fittings, they exist as well.

Thanks Guys. I Had no idea that the stock line had a hose barb on it under the line. I still got the explorer in the yard. Off I go to check this out.

Not sure if the factory ones do or not.

Be sure to measure them. If they are a tad under 5/16" at the narrows in the barb, use 7MM (VW) high pressure fuel line.

Here is a reference I took out of the Lawson Book... Not really what you asked for, but if anyone else is looking...

If you get in a pinch, most of those OEM numbers are still good at Ford... Anywhere from $10-20 bucks

You can rent the tool to install the fittings on the plastic line too. It is totally worth it. I have nylon line (needed two rolls) front to back and all OEM connectors. I even took the fuel pump and filter fittings etc. Works pretty great and should last forever.

The only non-OEM parts are the rubber line from the tank into the back of the pump and the return fitting in the overflow line.
