Ok on the tire carrier finally got around to making the mods I talked with Art and some others on. Thanks for all those that posted up pics of theirs and shared builds. If I did it again I would use thinner stock for the carrier but would still use 3/16" for the "hidden" bumper. Overall I'm much happier with this than I would be with plate bumpers for $1-4k.Joe, looks good. I am complete but still trying to come up with a latch and possibly a pin that will drop in when open so the arm stays put and does not keep swinging.
Can you put up some close ups on your latch? It looks like you extended the arm a bit past the original swing arm design. Was that to mount the latch?
Thx,
Chris

Some notes I added an angle for the carrier latch to tension against. If I did it again I would tension against the stationary latch mount. The is no pressure on spring latch when latched it drops right in. Added plate around spindle and spring latch to hub to latch at approx 90 and 180 degrees to prevent it swinging into the truck, Other trucks, or me. Also got it powder coated.
