Believe it or not, I have had that request.
It is possible to do this but the glass would scratch to the point of uselessness in a short amount of time. I am not worried about it breaking, the scratching is the issue. It was an insert in the floor that was glued in. Would consider it if someone wants to foot the cost as the panel alone is expensive.
