I found this on Craigslist:
http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/2371851701.html

I will build with these parts:
1) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-0-80453/
2) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8582/
3) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-5541/
4) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NGK-2438/
5) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-5090/
6) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-2091/
7) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-8312-1/
8) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEM-205637M-000/
9) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRO-302-500/
10) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-6909HKR/
11) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-SP1004/ (For the block)

This will be the power plant for which ever Classic Bronco I buy. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I built this engine off of experience and online. I am deployed right now and looking at auto parts is the prefered method of wasting time. "HURRY UP AND WAIT"

Also, if anyone knows of a fixer/driver out in Texas, e-mail me at:
1) covert.benjamin@gmail.com
2) benjamin.covert@afghan.swa.army.mil

This is my first time post here. All I want to do is learn about early Broncos and share my engine knowledge. I want to learn from you guys.

God Bless!

Can't go wrong with a 302 in an EB, IMO. A few things about your list, since you asked for opinions:

Unless there's a compelling argument against it, I'd stick with a stock Ford Duraspark dizzy & ignition rather than going to an MSD

Same idea with the plugs: I've NEVER had an issue with regular old Champion or Autolite plugs, even on "hi-po" engines. They're also cheaper than those you've listed.

Ditto with the starter...if nothing else there are smaller, cheaper versions available other than the one you picked out from Summit.

Headers: I'd likely go with some from a Bronco vendor over Summit. I have no personal experience with the ones you picked out but I have, in the past, ordered some Hedman's from a non-Bronco supplier (supposedly Bronco specific) and they were a bear to make work. Nothing a torch & BFH didn't fix, but I was young.

The re-ring kit in your list is for a 429/460, not for a 302. Might be a typo but be certain before you place an order.

I like the Edelbrock "top-end" kit; got it on my 302 and no complaints. I went with Comp Cams push rods but just make sure you get the correct length whatever you get.

Hope this is helpful. Welcome to the best Bronco site on the web and thank you for your service!
