Could you help me identify the type of bolt on my harmonic balancer? I’m trying to identify the right impact socket but I’m not familiar with this one.

Count the points on the bolt. Looks like a regular 12 point socket of the correct size should fit just fine. Most "impact" sockets are 6 point.

EDIT: Try a 5/8" 12 point socket.

Don't know of a 12 point impact socket. But I'll bet there's one on Amazon. Personally I would go after it with a standard 12 point.

Someone put a nice bolt in there. A regular 12-point socket is what you need. Yes, you can put a 12-point non-impact chrome socket on your impact to get that off. Everyone here has done that more times than they can count. That is how we get through working on cars without owning everything on the snapon truck. If you did shop work and needed that more than twice a year, there are fancy high dollar sockets. For what you need, that bolt should not be that tight, a regular cheapie socket will be the choice.

I’m curious to see what the rest of the damper looks like as well.
