Has anyone come up with a way to pump gas at the station like a normal person?

I'll try the additional 1/4 vent. The other day I tried placing it in the filler as normal and setting the trigger and it actually pumped fine, but eventually the fumes or something caused the trigger to let go and the pump fell and spilled gas everywhere

I think the additional vent will make it so the filler doesn't overflow before it gets into the tank and solve my problem!
