I didn't get the fuel lines installed yesterday. I am hoping that I can get one of my local bronco brothers over here this afternoon sometime to try and help me get this problem solved.

If anybody has suggestions, pics, or advice, I am open to suggestions.

It is easier to install the lines if you remove the mounting bolts for the diff. valve and remove the clutch equlizer bar. Don't bend them, go from the bottom. There are pictures on my site of them installed.

Chuck, first off thanks for replying on here!

1. I am going to check the location of my mounting clamps with the measurements from your site ( approx at 24, 40, 54, 91, and 110 inches from the front of the frame).

2. I have looked at the pics on your website several times. I ordered the deluxe efi kit for a rear exit fuel rail. The pics of the line on your site doesn't exactly match up to what I received. So I called and spoke to you Thursday (25 Aug 2011) afternoon. I thought that the front line may have been left straight for shipping reasons and that I would need to bend upward to make the fuel line run up the front of the firewall to make it look like the one in the pic on your website. You double checked with Jason and he said that it was only supposed to have approx 135 degree bend and stick a couple inches above the frame .

3. More about pics.... The main area where I'm having trouble is in the area of the trans crossmember. I haven't been able to find any pics of the middle of the frame around the cross member. I believe that a few pics of that area would help me.

4. I thought that I may be doing something wrong by the instructions that were sent so, I printed off the specific instructions from the website for the deluxe rear outlet fuel rail (351w). Both sets of instructions show bends in the lines that are not in my line ( around the front of the trans crossmember. Both of my front lines (pressure and return) are straight except on one end. Both have approx 135 degree bend about 3-4 inches from the end.

Also Chuck,

I want you to know that I am not trying to rant or rave and I'm not upset. I just want to make sure I get the lines installed properly as they were designed with very little to no bending. That was the whole reason behind me purchasing your kit.

I am just looking for some advice to aid in the correct installation and maybe (just maybe) be able to help a fellow Bronco brother/sister answer a question(s) with their installation by reading this thread on this great site about my issues and solutions.

Basically give back/help others in our Bronco community hat has helped me so much so far.

Thanks!

I will remove the bolts for diff. Valve and remove equalizer bar to see if this helps.

I currently have the steering column, brake booster and bracket removed. The only thing in front of the fire wall on drivers side is the diff. Valve and the equalizer bar.

Here is pictures of the BC line kit I done. It's for a carb motor. I only did some tweaking on it, but had no major issues. I'll try and get by your place and check it out though.

66ALRIDE, These pics are exactly what I am talking about. In post 27, pic1 and pic3 show the front line. The one you installed has a few bends in it. My front line is perfectly straight except for the very front of it and it has about a 135 degree bend upward.

Both my pressure line and my return line is perfectly straight except for the 135 degree bend at the very front end.

Brother, it sounds like you're stuck right where I was. At the crossmember there's no way to get the two lines to connect and match up to the brackets. I ended up not being able to use the majority of the brackets. I took my bender and made a few bends to get the line up and over the top of the cross member and it finally attached. The install posted a couple of posts up doesn't appear to have the stock cross member, so perhaps that why it laid in so easily. That install is beautiful...mine, not so much. It's functional and I'm glad I have new lines, but I will buy my own line and bend it myself next time. I'll try to find my post and put it up, as it show pictures of the problems I was having. Not intending to flame BCB, I just don't think this product comes as advertised.

Here's my post...

That is the crossmember for the NV4500 so it is a little different. As far as the bends toward the front, they may be different for your install since this one was a carb motor.

First the pictures may not be the same as the part, we change the part when we find a way to make it better but it takes time sometimes to get the instruction pictures changed.
second, I don't feel bashed, you are using this forum for what it was designed for.
The rear engine lines are diff than the front engine lines. The rear engine lines stop around the firewall and only have a small bend near the end. A flex line goes from there up to the back of the engine. A picture might help.

So how about that pic chuck? Is the forward most clamp supposed to go on the small section after the bend, or on the straight section? Also, I can only find four bolt locations that will work, not five.

And are the 3/8s fittings supposed to be loose on the line when tight
To the barb fittings?

Hose end looks like a jic pushlock fitting and other is inverted flare. They make an adapter for that but you probably want the right fittings to start with.

So did they install the wrong fittings?

Yes your fitting is wrong. The fitting that is on the hose is not a inverted flare. I Just ask the packers about this and they were aware that a order had come in and they sent a few out before they caught the problem. If you would call back We an get the right part out today. Sorry
