I have a 3" muffler now, the Vortex Classic 88106 - 3504. It was great about 5K miles ago, but now it is just too loud! I would like to replace it, but there are just so many choices that I dont know what to choose.

This is what I have now...

Do any of you have a suggestion for a 3" in/out muffler? I need to keep this size. The description says it has a melow tone, but anything above 2500 is about 95 db in the cab. It's not race car loud. But it is loud enough that it makes it a pain to talk while on the highway, and gives you a mild headache after longer trips.

Thanks for the input!

At 3", I might even think about the 50 series instead. A bit quieter where you want it, but still with that nice deep throaty Flowmaster sound.

This is not sarcasm, but I actually do use earplugs when driving in a Bronco for any length of time. With all the gear noise, wind noise, engine noise, tire noise and exhaust noise, I get the headache and sore throat even WITH quiet mufflers!

Good luck. And definitely let us know what you end up with, and whether it lived up to your expectations in the conversation department.
