Hood opening options

Are there other options than the stock release or use of hood pins to lock and open the hood?

I’m wanting to remove the big lock and release lever on my 73, so I’m curious to what others have done.

I've got one of those. Not really by choice but a non stock core support and adding AC meant that I ran out of room for the factory latch. If I had it to do over I wouldn't bother with the interior release cable and I would have just modified the latch to open by hand through the grille opening.

That is said to be "out of stock." Are there other options? This is coming up a lot lately, especially with people who are switching to larger transmission coolers, so an option is needed.

I made my own version from a stock hood latch by removing the lever and cutting and rotated and welded the release mechanism 90 degrees towards the driver side and ran a six foot Morse cable inside the cab. I sold the Bronco so I don't have installed pics, but have this pic of it before installation.

Installed the BC Bronco unit today and am impressed. Used the fuel selector spot on the dash (no more auxiliary tank). Quality of parts was very good. Lemme see if I can post some pictures.

I might reroute the cable higher so it's not visible. Routed there so I didn't have to drill a hole. Overall, super worth it.
