“The single occupant, male driver, was possibly ejected through the floor of the classic Ford Bronco authorities believe. It appeared no windows were shattered…. The male driver was rushed priority to an area hospital. He was still communicating with EMS.”

Yikes hope he’s is alright as well!

Looks like a rust bucket, and the right rear tire blew

Knowing the area, that was a complete rust bucket. Guessing an older cosmetic resto and flip where the structure under was never addressed.
Probably more cut up than anything else.

Reading about it on some FB posts, sounds like it was possibly an older gentleman.

Hmm. I'm reconsidering some of my more questionable "restoration" choices now...

was gonna say those tires look on the old side. maybe they had a structural failure?
What is the difference between a structural failure and a blow out?
Old tires that have aged out tend to fall apart while driving.

One of the pictures it looks loke the front axle broke or bent? I have a buddy that rolled his bronco one night leaving work. A front Axle tube came out of the pumpkin, spring popped out and over he went. Full cage and seat belts saved him.

Looks more like the tire hooked the tree and pulled the axle apart.
It did have a new exhaust, looks to have been a 6-cylinder.

That's about 40 miles away from me! I was worried in might have been a friend of a friend that lived in Joplin, but it wasn't

Looks to have no roll cage or roll bar. The top held better than I would have expected. Some of the top damaged was from the recovery of the Bronco.

Hope he is recovering well.
I blew through there a week or so ago in my Bronco for camp/fish and then back through there last Friday - weather was certainly sketchy each time.

A cage that doesn't properly tie seat and belts into the same structure could have made that much worse. If the belts were attached to a frame mounted cage, but the seats to the body...
That could have been very ugly.

That's what I was thinking, floor ejection?!?? How does that happen? Rusty floor boards?
Typical Missouri rust. Yea, floorboards rotted out. Probably a poorly done patch, or 5.
You can see the body mounts all failed. Nothing holding the body to the frame.

I was finding it hard to imagine going out through the floor, but if you look at the Pic taken more from the side with the 45 Mph sign prominent to the left you can see foliage through an opening when you look through the passenger window which is halfway down after the the crash. As mentioned by BB they did additional damage in the recovery as in the video you can see the window is gone as they pulled it up on the highway. I think you can see a moment of light from the floor through the passenger window there as well.
