Horn on Aftermarket Column

I just traced the wires from the iDidit column and I found that the blue/yellow wire is connected to the black column wire, which is correct. The yellow wire (460 on the diagram from Oldtimer) on the horn circuit isn't connected to anything but has 12V+.

No, it's not.
The Blue w/yellow stripe is for "power out to the horn" so it must be connected to the #87 pin on the relay.
The Black wire from the column (if it's the horn button ground) should be connected to pin #85 of the relay.
The yellow wire (460 on the diagram from Oldtimer) on the horn circuit isn't connected to anything but has 12V+.
Yes, it's connected to the headlight switch. It used to go up into the original column, to the 2-pin horn button, then back out to the horn via the Blue w/yellow wire.
For a '69, it's getting power from it's connection to the headlight switch, which in turn gets it's power directly from the large Black wire in the harness.
For '74 and later Broncos that used a factory horn relay, the Yellow wire was under the hood and connected directly between the horn relay and the starter relay/solenoid to get it's power.

You can use your existing Yellow wire to power your new relay, if you don't already have a permanent connection between the battery and pin #30.
But if you already have that dialed in, you can cap off the Yellow wire and keep it tucked safely out of the way.

I haven't put in the relay anywhere permanent yet, since I've been trying to sort all this out. based on the wires mostly being under the dash, that seems like the logical place. Sorry to beat the dead horse on what goes where, but I want to confirm before I cut anything...

1) yellow wire from the headlight switch to 30
2) 30 and 86 jumper wired together
3) 85 is black wire from column harness
4) 87 to blue/yellow wire

Even though I put my horn relays under the hood, in your case under the dash seems the perfect spot.
No bad weather to deal with at any rate.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes. You may still have to verify that it's grounded, but a simple push of the horn button should do it!
4. Yes. Since you tested it and know that the wire goes to, and honks, the horn, that is the correct pin.

Give it a try.

These may help clarify wire colors in Idit column.
Their relay has 3 connections, which mimics your relay with 30 & 86 connected together.

This thing is getting the better of me. I have the relay moved and wired as mentioned above and nothing. I remove the black column wire from the relay and ground the relay and the horn honks, so it appears to be a ground issue in the column. When I look through the side of the column, the brass pin/contact in the column isn’t touching the horn cam, so I’m assuming that’s my issue now. When I depress that brass pin/contact, I get continuity to the black column wire by the relay with it disconnected from the relay. I added pics to the original link in my first post.

Does this seem right?

I spoke to ididit this morning and they believe 12v was applied to the column at some point and it fried the horn contact spring. I just ordered a replacement so we'll see if that sorts it all out. I appreciate all the input so far, it's been very helpful!

I don't have a window washer pump so I used the push button momentary switch on my window wiper switch to operate my nautilus horn.
I have tried but could never get the horn switch to work properly my aftermarket steering wheel.

The contact comes today so hoping to see if that works today or sometime this weekend. If it doesn't, I was thinking of something similar to what you did and mounting a button on the dash.

Worst thing to happen is that you make a left turn and the horn goes off and you need to pull out off traffic on the side of the road to pop your hood and pull the connecting lead off your horn.
Don't ask how I know this...
