How do you guys clean your dash pad?

How do you guys get the dirt out of all the lines on your dash pad? I've tried a tooth brush and soapy water and also tried some 409 and tooth brush. The pad looks great until it dries. Then all the dirt is still there in the textured lines. I don't really want to add a dressing that camouflages and always makes it look wet. It seems like I should be able to get the actual dirt particles out of the lines. Am I just being stubborn and crazy?

Pic? 409 is pretty harsh on rubber/plastics. It could be that your pad is damaged and what you’re seeing isn’t dirt rather micro cracks. A simple car APC or interior detailer should be enough.

This is what I'm talking about. I've seen it on pictures of other dash's on here as well. It looks to me like there is tan dirt in all the grooves around the pebbling bumps. Am I just wrong and this is how it's supposed to look?

Try wiping some black trim renew/restorer on the pad. That looks like fading/degradation of the material. Look up Jax Wax if you need a reference on products.

agree it looks like the vinyl has gotten sun damage in the textured grooves.
you can try 303 Aerospace or Adams VRT. you'll want to wipe both off immediately after applying.

I have more questions than answers.
Back in the day we used baby oil. I still have a couple vehicles I did that with in the 80s and still no cracks. Haven't used anything for years since. To be fair I always try to garage my vehicles.
