Get a wire brush and clean it up real well. You should see tons of spot welds across the width of the windshield frame. It's no easy task!

If you're working on your '70 Ripcity, then it's what they said. Welded on.
If it's your '66 however, look closely at it again. Might be something hidden under the years of stuff.
How many fasteners hold on a '66 guys?

Hi,

I've got a 66 and it only has 10 bolts to hold it on.

BUT BEFORE YOU TRY TO UNBOLT IT GET SOME LIQUID WRENCH ON THEM TO LOOSEN THEM OR YOU WILL BREAK THE BOLTS OFF.

The first time I took mine off for fun the second bolt broke off. Did the liquid wrench but the 3rd one wouldn't budge. So, I took a small torch, heated the head of the bolt, hit it with a hammar, and they all came out in less than 15 mins flat.

Grease the new bolts before you reinstall a 66 windshield frame.

Good luck with the spot weld remover, those suck.

Thanks guys I am working on my 70 and I see all the spot welds. I may just prep and paint it attached. I would get a better job if I removed it but that sounds like more than I want to do then I have to re-attach it so it's going to stay on.

Thanks Guys!
