My 67 has been in a constant state of change since I got it in 2005. The heavy work like body and engine rebuild I did in 05 and 06 but every chance I get I do a little work on it. I have always been able to keep it drivable the longest it was down was about three months. My wifes has been going since 2008 and was torn down for body work for at least 6 months. But just like my 67 it still is always being worked on. I dont think they will ever be done. I always try to make sure at least one of them is drivable at all times.

It is a completely different thing if you are working on it while you are driving it. At least then you get the satisfaction of driving it occasionally.

I got my current EB at the end of 2009. I did a frame off and got it back in drivable condition in the summer or 2010. I have been driving it for almost a year now but it will never really be finished. I think of something else I want to do to it almost every day.;D

It will be seven years in August for this one. Probably complete enough now to call "done;" not that the tinkering will ever stop. At least not until I do.

Which one?

On my "good" trail rig, the better question would be "How long has it been since you worked on it". :-[

TOO LONG. I had it torn down for 2-3 years doing to more mods and wanted to take it to SoCal for the 40th events. I got back on it and worked like hell but ran out of time and did not get to take that one with us. The most action it has seen since has when I moved to my new place and when we move it out of the main working section of my shop over to the other parts storage side when when I hosted the MEB Wrench & Roast's #1, 2 and soon to be 4 at my place. The body is on a rolling cart and the frame and drivetrain are next to it on stands.

I have had a slew of other Broncos in and out and sitting around the shop as well, so it is not like I have not done any Bronco work at all, just not any on one of the rigs I really should be!

Headed to the MEB Roundup tomorrow with no trail rig.:(

Decided I did not want to spend the time or effort to fix a few things on the beater trail rig I have used the last couple years, so I will be taking two originals for the street cruise. Our 77 Ranger and my dad's Stroppe Ambulance.

Maybe next year I will have the trail rig....?:?

brought mine home in march 2007, that's when i started. not sure if i'll ever "finish". one of my favorite toys ever.

broncofreak, what are you working on right now?

I have a 66 Bronco that I started building with just a bare frame, I have the frame blasted and painted, front axle is built and ready to go in. The 351w engine is rebuilt stock and ready to go, C4 trans is being built as I type. I had a rear axle built but changed my mind and now am building a different one. The body tub is stripped about as far as I can take it, waiting to be media blasted. Then all I am waiting on are replacement doors and hood and then most of the body panels will be brand new.
I have a build thread in my signature if you click on it you will see I have changed my mind a few times. Now I have a plan that I am sticking with and I am going to build this thing in phases so I can start to enjoy it a little quicker.

I put my 74 together from 1 rusted and 2 wrecked broncos in 1992 drove it till 2005. Then I took it a part for a waterpump leak and some rust repairs, that turned into a 6 year and counting frame off resto. Are they ever done?

I went the route of buying a driveable Bronco that needed some work, but still driveable! I have been upgrading and replacing things for two years, but still maintain it's ability to be a daily driver!

On July 26 I will have been doing something on the '71 for 35 years. I am putting together a special "Bronco-through-the-years" collage to celebrate.

I purchased my 76 in 1997. I tore it down in 1998. I have worked on and off and on it when life and money will allow. Economy has really been tough. It is currently a completely rebuilt and upgraded rolling chassis awaiting the body guy to finish the freaking tub for 3 yrs. That is a total of 13 years. I will finish and keep it. I haven't driven it in 13 yrs. %@)

Hmmmmm? I think it started in the spring of 2000 or 2001! Who knows at thiis point. In any case too long ago. Hopefully will be on the road shortly. Mine has taken this long for alot of reasons but I didn't work on it for sometimes years and months at a time. However, lately I have been as motivated as ever to get this HORSE back on the road where it belongs!!! ;D

Ha Ha! You guys are just getting going. Bought mine in 1984 after I was needing a ride to college - First frame off done then - Drove for 25+ more years before doing the second restore last year. So mine is pushing 27 years of ongoing restoration and repair. Just get used to it - It never ends.;D
