Seven frames six restorable. One will have to be built from parts. One salvage title one untitled field find.

I read on another forum that there are about 27% of the IH Scouts made still on the road. Would our broncos would be significantly different?

Remember that it is normal for junk yards to crush vehicles and lots of these 70's cars and trucks were just plain junk back in the 80's, 90's. Lots probably got crushed, as they were sadly more valuable as scrap back then. I remember in my twenties walking the junk yards for parts for my old 1970 chevy pickup and as the years went by less and less were available in the yards. At least here in the East.

Yes in a way because Scouts didn't have the availability of parts like our Broncos did. I don't think Scouts were as well built either, just from talking with older people who were around in the 70s and remember them vs other vehicles. I do remember in the mid 90s walking through an auto salvage yard and seeing the Scouts stacked on top of each other. There was only one Bronco there and it was a Ranger package with dealer A/C. It didn't look like anything was physically wrong with it and I thought it was a lot better truck than what I was driving at the time!

On the other hand, not sure I see how 56k Broncos could still be around.

All I know is I am glad I decided to buy the one I did back in 2007. Even if it was a rust bucket at the time.

I have 3 and know of 4 others in my area. Also the local junk yard has 3 in pieces and he won't even take an offer to buy.

I got my 77, and see a old complete but wrecked one in a mini junkyard 10 miles from me. Plus a local guy just got his 66 half cab up and running from his field couple years ago and drives it. that's 3 here.

Based on my experience with another car that had a global production of about 300,000 units in a 15 years or so production in the same time period, the fact that there are estimates of 3000 on the road, yet I have seen one other in 10 years, but about 10 times that for early Broncos in the same time period, and factoring in the fact that Broncos are almost all in North America, etc etc., I am estimating about 50,000 ± 15,000 early Broncos. That's my estimate and I am sticking to it!

What car is that ?

They made 3 million pintos
Appx 10X as many as they made Broncos

How many of those POS's you see on the road ?
None

Some cars just never die

Like the model A
85 years later .....Of the 5 million built its believed 10% are still registered and drivable

And probably another 300-400K still exist in some form or another

85 years from now are 10% of the explorers or F-150s built from 2005-2010 gonna still be registered and drivable ??
I don't think so

I have 2 and scraped one

One I drive all of the time, one (for my wife) sitting waiting for a miracle for me to find funds to restore.. the one i scraped I did save the frame/dash/glovebox door - I think it may one day become a class 3 race chassis.

That looks like 187 not junked. No posts in over 2 months, so that must be all that are left in the world. ;D No wonder prices have gone nuts.

Know of 5 drivers and multiple scrap ones around me. When I first looked at in mid 90s the guy/owner had many but sadly parted/scrapped all of them since.
