How much does an Early Bronco Tub weigh?

How much does an Early Bronco Tub weigh? Tub with no fenders, no grill, no doors, no tailgate, no hard top, no grill and no interior. I was thinking about trying to lift this tub up in the air from my ceiling trusses using straps and and two chain hoists(one in front and one in the back of the Bronco tub. I am trying to calculate the weight. I was thinking about pulling the Bronco in sideways (perpandicular to the trusses) and using one truss to lift the front/middle part as I lift the middle/rear from another truss. Any ideas if this would be to much, or has anyone done it?
Let me know you thoughts.

Thanks,

Andy

I am 6 ft 1 205 and my buddy is 6 ft 4 250 and we lifted 2 different tubs last week.1 off a rolling chassis onto a trailer and the other off a 3 ft tall stand onto another trailer but both had the ft core support already cut off but it ads only 50-75 lbs so I am sure we didnt lift over 400-450 lbs with the stripped tubs. The first one had the windshield and wiper setup in it though and easily added 50 lbs.I dont know if I would trust the trusses or not as they look like there is a big span between them.

Pulled mine off with ratchet straps- I junked that tub, so I didn't brace it (flex!).

I used 4 Eye bolts/washers/nuts into the rafters- It was for lifting my hard top off, but ended up working also for lifting the body off during this body swap. You can see in the one pic. I've got the seatbelts buckled, and lifting from them.

Not saying it was safe! -or- will work for you, but I tried it, and my garage is still standing :D.

I used two 2x4's, straddling my 2x4 joists, strap band with a 1/2 ton chain hoist attached. Did not even hear a squeak. See photo in my gallery.

They cant be too much. Me and a buddy both weigh less than 300 pounds, can easily lift a bare tub with core support on and off a frame. Just not too many times in the same day.

If you leave the doors, TG and hard top on, would you have to brace anything? Was planning on using my bobcat with extended forks to lift mine off and it is rated for 1300 lbs.

Hi Andy

The tubs don't really weigh that much but who knows the quality of work that went into the garage. No point in taking a chance when you and a couple of friends could lift it off pretty easily. Engine crane works super and if you don't own one yet you can rent them for about $20 per day.
