I have had this bronco for 7 years and it was rust free for the most part but the body was all binged up. I did a quick bondo and paint that got me by but now I am ready to install new sheet metal and repaint as flawlessly as my body work will allow me. The plan went into effect a couple months ago. I would print off airplane kits and plans for sale on ebay and leave them out on the counter. Finally she asked me what I was going to do with that pile of ebay stuff. I said Oh, I plan on building an airplane. We started talking about the financing part then it happened. She said" you are not going to start another project until other things get finished around this place. She went on. how long has that bronco been sitting without being finished. I new my plan would work, my airplane is on hold but I will order and pick up my parts for my bronco next week and won't get any flack. Well it wasn't quite that easy you have to add painting the house which I hired out. Installing new copper gutters on our house, that will be my last job as a contractor. By the time you add in the the 2 pair of diamond earrings I bought earlier this year you might just say my project just had to wait it's turn.

Thank you Sir. As I am sitting here laughing I'm counting myself the fortunate recipient of another person's hard won experience.

Well done.
My wife just cant understand why I keep wanting another bronco. She always says "we have 3 what do we need another one for?"
I always reply "it is not a matter of need, its a matter of want!" She rolls her eyes and walks away! I could have worst habits!

I have a great wife. When she is being asked about my bronco habit she tells everyone that at least she knows where I am (in the shop).

Well played! The bronco I just bought was without my wife's knowledge, took her a month to find out about and was warned not to bring it home, was at my work yard space, so when she was away for the weekend got a buddy, loaded it on the trailer, brought it home and rolled it through the basement double doors, took her two weeks to see it! Should of saved that text;D
Good luck

We have separate checking accounts. We rarely argue about money.

3 years ago I told her my frame off would cost around 10k, I'm probably around 30k and counting. If she watched these transactions on a banking website pretty sure I would be looking for wife #2 by now.

My boss bought his wife diamond earings for Christmas a couple years ago. The week after Christmas he was at work bragging how those earrings were worth more than they cost because he could use them to get his wife to let him buy a new shotgun.
About 2 minutes later his wife called him and said "You need to be careful who you butt dial!" and hung up. She heard it all hahah
Moral of the story, don't let your wife read this thread.

That story sounds like a couple of friends of mine. They were out hunting, but one had to go home to go to a wedding with his wife. About the time he was to head home, he called her and said they were stuck and he couldn't make it it in time. He thought he had hung up and told his friend I am glad I got out of that. I didn't want to go to that damn wedding, but she was going to make me go. She came on the speaker and said If you are going to talk about me HANG UP THE DAMN PHONE!!

I forgot about our roof. That was what started the project list this past spring. The contractor we hired was pissed when I told him he couldn't start until I removed and replaced the flashing before he would be allowed to start the roof. Now with only 100' of gutters to finish, the bronco will be front and center and finished by Christmas. Or a few weeks shortly after. I hope everyone enjoyed my satire I will post pictures when I get her done.

I just got my two year old to yell "Bronco!" whenever we go in the garage. When in front of mommy, I make sure I tell my son, "Yes, Bronco! That will be yours someday." Appeal to the children, but just realize they will eventually hold you to your word, so you better get two!

Nice work. When I was searching for a 4x4, my wife actually said "don't buy a jeep or anything else. You've always wanted a Bronco and you'll regret it if you don't get one. You'll always be saying ' I should have....'.
Needless to say, my EB is in the garage and being revived
Thanks for the story!

You know you got a great wife when she tells you its time for you to rebuild your Bronco again. Maybe its because I'm almost finished hers.

Its always a great idea to get the kids into it. My two daughters are getting older now but still love going out wheelin / camping. I was told many years ago I am not allowed to sell it.

This thread reminds me of my own story. I was angling to pick up an old 4-wheeler and tried to justify it for crop scouting. My wife said, "if you need a crop scouting vehicle, why don't you get that old truck in the shed running again." Like her dad reminded me, "Opportunities like that don't come around every day". That was three years ago and so far she hasn't complained... Now as far as getting the kids involved, last week her brother remarked that it will be worth something when I get it done. I told him it didn't matter since I have no plans to sell it. My eight year old piped up, That's right because it will be mine next!

It's definitely been brining the family closer together. To think, after all these years, the path to true happiness is hiding behind Bronco Fever

First, nice bit of marital (if not ninja-like) negotiations!!!;). As I am not as skilled as you, Danielson, I resorted to the above tactics which have proven comical yet effective!

Congrats! Keep us posted on the build!
