How to ID Factory Steel Wheels?

All -

I have a few EB's - '66 (actually picking it up Friday), '67, '68, '69, and '72. In collecting these, I ended up with some wheels that appear to be stock 15 x 5.5 steel wheels.

Is there any way to positively identify these via stamped codes or otherwise?

Thanks,

Scott

Stock wheels have a Ford oval and KH (Kelsey Hayes) the actual wheel maker stamped on them. Otherwise they're 15"X5,5" as you said.

What was the color of the original steel wheels on a sport model. I have gray (definitely been painted), but the spare is almost like an argent.

So I got the tires off the wheels and measured them. Looks like I have four different types of wheels that came off the same '66 Bronco!

Left is 15 x 6.

Middle bottom is 15 x 5.5, large center bore.

Middle top is 15 x 5.5, regular center bore.

Right is 15 x 5.

Would be nice if I could do some horse trading to end up with a complete set of 15 x 6's, but that might take a while.

Anyway, I'm assuming the 15 x 6 is an F100 wheel, and the 15 x 5.5 an original early Bronco wheel. Any ideas on original application for the 15 x 5 large center bore wheel and the 15 x 5?

The bottom middle looks correct for a 15" 66 wheel, although I don't remember the bore size off hand.

The most obvious difference in the 66-67 wheel is the absence of a seating bead and the backside of the rim has a steep slope to the wheel center.

The original colors of the wheels were Wimbledon White from 66 to mid year 73, then grey from 73 to 76 and the 77 year model wheels were Argent. The wheel color didn't change with the decor packages...ie Sport or Ranger..

The top center wheel is an earlier (50's to 60's) wheel that has provisions for the 'dog dish' hubcaps. The left and right wheels are possibly Bronco..

I didn't realize that the jeep wheels had the same slots as the 66 bronco wheels

The centers are the tell-tell sign that its a jeep wheel..and the center stamping is different from K/H.

Any ideas on modern grey color match?

Jeep and early dodge wheels had a large center bore. jeep used them all the way up to 8"wide. You might find a set of suzuki wheels out there with the same lug pattern.
