Simple question. Can the underhood heater air box be removed without removing the passenger side fender? I'd like to remove mine and clean out the dirt that has accumulated under it.

I have never done it without removing the fender, of course I was doing a restoration and it was coming off anyway...

It screws to the kick panel from inside the cab. If you remove all of those screws, the only thing holding it in place is the fender. It's possible that you could loosen the fender bolts along the top and move the fender out enough to wiggle the box out. I'd guess simply removing the fender would be easier and faster than trying to squeeze it out with the fender just loose.

Thanks, I had a strong feeling this was going to be the case but figured I'd ask. I'll probably leave well enough alone until such a time that I have to pull a fender.
