Had the same problem years ago. Did the carb and the fuel tanks, turned out to be the Petronix ignition, had to put an aluminum spacer between the magnetic thingy and rotor bar or was it under the magnetic thingy, I forgot. I can check it out tomarrow and let you know.

I could barely get my engine to run when the magnetic pickup was where it was supposed to be. I had to shove it over until it touched to make it work. Pertronics is easy, but not the best... The Duraspark setup is better...

rebuilt carb again...
checked pugs.. timing ingnition. all good
still bogging down on acceleration and stumbles under a load and pulling a hill.
do i need to just get a new coil and carb?

Sounds like the acc pump isn't working correctly.

This is what happend to my nephew too. Turned out that when the engine is under load some distributor shafts will suck down into the distributor causing the pick-up to mis-align with the magnet thingy, by putting a spacer under the magnet thingy, under load the pick-up will line up. We used a piece of sheet aluminum and made are own spacers.

I am no mechanic and this may be off the wall but I was having similar issues with my carbed 351. I could tell one plug looked different so we did a compression test on that cylinder. Turns out the intake valve wasn't seating completely and therefore the compression stroke was blowing back into the carb and other cylinders as well. Maybe checking the compressions is cheaper than a new carb.
