Interior Colors and Wiper Motor Cover Styles

I know some of the vehicles were parchment but I have a couple of pieces which came with a parts lot that appear to be more of a very light tan color. At first I thought they were just discolored white/parchment but it seems like they are colored as such.

Also, I have two types of wiper motor covers--one has a dome light and the other doesn't. The "light tan" one has the map light. I will post pics when I can.

Thanks, Dave.

The dome light was an option. All the covers I've seen were the same basic type. I've heard that most years after '69 had the light option, but I'm not sure if that was true, or people are mixing the "map light" and "dome light" options together.
From what I remember, few if any were installed in pre-'73 models. In '73 and later it seemed like most had the dome light. Just from memory though.
Maybe it's really just that Ford offered it in '73 and newer models, and some people retrofitted to earlier models?

As far as colors, I think Explorers and Rangers with certain color interior options had the covers color-coordinated as well. The two Explorers in my experience (both '72's) had parchment covers with tan interiors and black dash pads. Later Rangers had (or often had?) color-coordinated dash pads as well, so maybe that's the model that got the colored covers too.

My 69 came with a parchment seat, tan (ish?) wiper cover and black dash pad. Pretty sure it was all original when I bought it. No interior lights.

I believe all the wiler covers were parchment because all the headliners were parchment and being as they both touch and are inside mostly white tops then inwould speculate that all were parchment. I had one that looked tan also but when i took the light out of it you could see that it was in fact originally parchment. I Think that with the amount of people that smoked when These rigs were new made all of them prematurely turn that yellowish tan color. Just my .02 cents

I think the dome light appeared in late '73 or '74. I think after that it was a standard feature.
