Is a EB Dana 44 that is bent worth much?

Found a EB Dana 44 for sale with what appears to be a bent short axle tube for $150. Is it worth picking up? Just curious, I can't weld to replace the bent parts. Is it worth getting to maybe trade or sell? I'm thinking no, but want some input. Thanks!

I sold one 20 years ago for 50 bucks, so x3 for inflation...maybe, but most would likely say no. But the internals could be of use for a future build.

I already have a front axle for my only possible future build, that's why I was asking if it would have any value as trading fodder...

No disc brakes its basically junk unless there's a locker or something to grab. Still doubt it's worth it at 150. I see usable 44s with drum brakes for that much

I used to collect bent EB44’s when I would buy them. I didn’t know they were bent when I got them, but I built an axle jig for narrowing and used it to discover bent housings. I also used to straighten them. They will move when you put about 40 tons on them.

The last one I did, I pressed the tube using my 4x4x6 cast V-block. I got it straight, and decided to over-bend it and push it back to make it perfect. That’s when the cast block exploded, the housing jumped out of the press, and I had to source some new underwear.

It happened so fast that I didn’t even move, or flinch, or blink. Just bang, crash, thud…what???

So yeah, I saved a housing, but I destroyed a $900 v-block. So no more D44 fixing for now.

Holy Hell.... I thought somebody with some skills could grind/heat/pull a short tube and replace it pretty easy. The one I found has a pretty significant bend in the short side. Any advice?
