From what I can tell its a pretty early production (738126), but not as early as some on here. its in pretty original shape, kind of rough, but not nearly as rough as alot ive seen. i have plans to do a restoration, and hopefully return her to her glory. although im missing a few very expensive things, like the 66 hubcaps, and shift boots. i also have a 69 U15 sport thats in pieces. Ive been reading, and have learned these early 66 and especially the U13 are completely different animals. this place has some interesting threads. thanks guys!

welcome to the roadster club. It looks like a very solid truck to start a restoration with

I have a few caps and a 66 shift boot reproduction will be released soon (I saw some pre-production sample photos a month ago).

Thanks guys. i bought this thing off of craigslist. guy had owned it for a few years. came off a ranch in south texas. was purchased originally for ranch use, never registered, but was titled. did a quick google search on the original owner, who was a big time land owner in tx. pretty interesting guy. i bet this thing was used and abused about what a polaris ranger, or yamaha rhino would be these days. purchased as a tool, not a toy. ive got more research, just dont want to bore you to death.

Welcome and great find! I'm thinking those gems for bumpers wouldn't been in that condition if it were used like a Polaris :)

There's never to much research to share, ever!

I've always wanted to see one of those 65-66 mustang bench seats in a bronco.

Looks almost Original, how's it bolted down and does it slide like a true bench seat?

interesting. we have been trying to figure out what it came from. it looks like ford factory, even though i know better. ill see if i can find some of the stamps or part numbers on it. it looks like it slides, its just kind of bound up at the moment. i can see where the original seat holes were next to it though.

Nice find. Radio delete, heater delete - a very basic Bronco (not a bad thing). My guess is it didn't come with hubcaps.

x2, I bet it didn't originally come with chrome bumpers either.

thats interesting. somehow it came with the chromed bumpers, and dealer installed taillight bezels. thats about the only upgrades it has. i did the VIN decoder on roadsteru13, and this thing had individual buckets from factory, and no special order options.

you think maybe dealer added options? those are original 66 bumpers from what i can tell.

Is it just me or does this description sound a lot like the Shelby found recently? :)

these things were quite popular ranch vehicles, i know a few people that had them growing up. mine still has the ranch brand painted on the side, and the truck number if you look closely. if you google the ranch, its still in operation, but the original owner died in 1979. not sure on the ranch or its history, but i know this bronco was in storage for 20 years, and was sold to the previous guy in 2013, atleast thats how the title reads.

Yes they are 66' bumpers, and in very good condition. They either came painted or chrome. Like Scoop mentioned, yours in a radio, heater delete. No signs of a chrome horn ring or cigar lighter, which "usually" came with the chrome caps and chrome bumpers. But as you're fixing to find out, you can expect the unexpected on a 66' lol. The original ordered could have ordered anything, any combo of features. The original owner could have wanted the most basic u13 possible, but wanted chrome bumpers, who knows :)
