You did a great job. Even more impressive is you did it in one year. Wow!
I like the way you filled the seam between the tail light and the rear quarter panels.

Enjoy your creation. Ed

Great work! Talk about some incentive to get mine done. I just hope its half as good looking as that one. What master cylinder is that?

Is the hinged taillight a kit thing or did you fabricate that yourself. I need more info for the future(when I get some money)

Made it myself...because the area behind the light is so small; actually thin, I used a Perma-cap. The cap that you don't have to remove to fill; it has a 'trap-door' in the center of it.

All I gotta do is lift tailight and insert nozzle.

WOW that is hands down the nicest looking bronco i have ever seen!

I want to hear more about that wiper conversion......

Did you just patch up the cowl with sheet metal? I like how there isnt any more cowl vents!

Also, can you go a bit more in depth on how you did the gas filler mod?

Nick~

I got the rad off a guy on Ebay, he had three...I suspect that they were 'seconds' as it was not the same dimensions of the original...actually it was but 90 degrees out! I hate Ebay deals!!! Always getting screwed...Anyway it didn't matter to me 'cause it was all custom anyhow.

The hinged taillight was pretty straightforward...bent a flat iron so that when the light was lifted it would clear the body. Welded a hinge to one end and attached the light to the other. The bottom screw of the light was changed to a latch.

I'll get some better pics once I get back home this week-end.

Thanks again for the nice 'reviews'...now I gotta decide if I should sell it....:'(

Forgot about the cowl...
Drivers side is just a sheet-metal patch...the passenger side I cut below the lip and lifted it up to the same level as the drivers. I then patched the remaining 'triangle'. It took a little fabrication to make both side match. How did I get the 'ribs' to match you ask?
The passenger side ribs are carved from wood and epoxied on. I knew I was covering the cowl with Line-X and could get away with it. I did all that so I could fit the Vintage Air A/C nicely under the dash.
I also welded the windsheild frame to the cowl...inside and out. I could never see myself driving with the WS down and hated how it rattled and leaked when driving.

I know what you mean about the clearance behind the tail light. I have my filler there too!! I cut out the back-up light and installed a flip-up filler door from a marine catalog. Works well and looks good too. Sorry no pics right now.

I couldn't bring myself to cut any more holes in my glass tub than I had to.

You've got a very beautiful rig there. Nice job! It takes alot of discipline to go the final mile.

Holey sweet mother of all that is good..Talk about a "sleeper", you built this rig in a year and this is the first we get to see it!. I am impressed, Very impressed, lots of your own engineering showing through and it definitely looks like a first place winner to me. Now what's this about selling it? Did you bump your head on the roll bar or what?

Ha ha!!
Just thinking of selling it...I like the building part more than the using part. Kinda like a test for myself...

Actually I had it for a little more than a year...I got it on Valentines day last Feb after bringing it back across country...boy did I hear about that one!!!
