Will probably depend on location to some extent and the hourly wage in the area. You will probably have to find someone who is open to modifying to fit as well. Most shops just have a book that tells them it is x number of hours to remove and replace (R&R), but this will not fit that description. Good luck. Maybe one of the vendors will chime in on this.

I would imagine it to be quite expensive. Moshe ups have a rate of $70 or higher per hour. I believe the hardest part will be finding somebody willing to do that modification. As most shops only know how to replace parts by the book

Ok, thanks for responding. Ill probably stop by a couple places. I talked to one shop who said its 5000 for parts and labor. Just sounded high.

Did it with my father-in-law's help over a weekend. Granted, he has a lift and tranny jack and all the necessary tools and a crapload of knowledge, while I had none of the above (except limited knowledge) and printed instructions. Gave him a copy of the instructions before hand and kept a set for me. Did as much prep work before hand as I could, too. We didn't truly spend 8 hours/day working either and were in no major rush.

Instructions are pretty straight forward and also did the twin stick for a T shift at the same time.

Got the adapter kit and twin sticks from Wild Horses and used their instructions along with Advance Adapters instructions and Mars Chariot's write up.

Maybe about 20 man hours invested???? Worst part was modifying/ installing cross brace for tranny as far as time goes.

Also get something in writing ( that is if they will give you something ) with regards to a warranty. With this being a modification, with adapters, I am guessing most shops will not or can not give a warranty. You might want to find a bronco builder shop to do this. Even if you have to load it on a trailer and travel a few hours.....

Just saw your note with the quote........

I think I have about $2050 in parts: used tranny for $850, AA adapter kit + AA twin stick kit + shipping was around $1200 That was about 2 years ago.

Just checked WH prices: would be between $2550-$3000 (depending on options) for new tranny + adapter kit + twin stick. THEN add SHIPPING, then add on your labor. Other vendors may have similar prices, but shipping could be less depending on your location.

It was quoted above that labor is $70/hour, well, my 20 hours X $70 = $1400 labor to be added to the above prices.

20 hours around here would be about $2400 bucks or so. Just in labor.
So that 5-grand in parts and labor is sounding legit. High(!) yes, but at least legit.
Especially if they don't know what they're getting themselves into, and don't want to lose money.
Be nice if you could get them to cut it back if it goes in smooth, but most shops rely a lot on that little extra bonus if they finish the job up ahead of schedule.

Where are you by the way justinhead?

Good luck.

Someone might know better than me, is JD at Deep South Fab the closest to Pensacola? I would guess 2 1/2 hours from Lacombe, La to Pensacola...

JD has done work on my Bronco and I was pleased with his work. He charges a fair price and it was worth the drive from Mobile. You might be able to talk him into handling transportation for a price.

Any local Bronco guys that would do it reasonable as a side job? I would rather pay another Bronco guy a fair amount than a no-name shop.

You may not need to even worry about a trailer. Does your bronco run and drive now? If yes, get a buddy to follow you over there and drop it off. When its ready, have the same guy bring you back over to pick it up. On the way home, stop somewhere and buy the guy a good steak.....
