bought a set of new LED dash indicator lights (wiper, temp, etc) and pulgged them in to my existing harness but they wont work. Do I need to buy a relay or different voltage regulator for the LEDs? I am running a new 3g alt.

You do not need to change any relays for the dash lights, or the voltage regulator.

Did you try reversing the bulbs? Many, maybe all, LEDs will only work when current flows thru them in the right direction. You also may not be able to dim them. Turn your headlight to the brightness position.

Thanjsthese are the sealed dash indicator lights. I tried flipping the harness plug over but didnt see anything. will try to reverse it back and play with he dimmmer switch. the okd ones never worked. thought it was a bulb but maybe its the harness. will put a meter on it.

Sure you have power at the plug? Might want to verify you do. Bench test the lights as well

If you don't get power to the connector check the shortest fuse in the fuse box. Sometimes the fuse clips get rusty and need to be cleaned.

Don't forget to turn the switch knob too.

If the above doesn't work, pull the light out and put the wires straight to the battery. Try both ways since LEDs are polarity sensitive. Once you know the light itself is good the problem is either power or ground (or polarity with an LED).
