Approx what lift? Assume front narrowing, substantial hacking, and pushing axles 8-10 inches outward (WB in 110 range). Going full hydro with no track bar in front. More interested in the front, as the rear will be at least partly back-halved.

I've got 5.5" of lift with 37's and I can cut the tires - 11" sounds about right.

Here is a local guy with 54's - mud racer without a lot of up-travel though.

I have a 5.5 sl and 3bl planning on running 40's. It willl flex well, duff 4 ink system. It is pictured with 38's, and I dont think 44's would be hard to fiit. It all depends on how much you want to cut.

ECT has one with 53's.. 2nd video, im not sure of the size, but got to be 40's plus. Flexes like crazy.

i stand by my 11" narrowed body and cut to the lines you should be able to stuff them tires up there, but it sounds like you are going to go play in mud more than anything if you are going with 44's. so stuffing them shouldnt be a problem

11" sounds about rite but it can be done with 5.5"coils 3" body but you have to cut the crap out of the fenders and bump stops are a must. All down flex no up travel at all. I'll see if I can't find a picture.

What do you mean no up travel? 5.5 coils is what almost everyone is running , or smaller....

11 sounds like a lot, but I am used to building fullsizes, so what do I know. They are 44 rockers, not planning on any mud. I had the rockers on my 79 briefly with approx 8" lift (4" springs and the 404 mogs). I am using axles (406 mog rear, 406/9 front) that have 72-73ish WMS to WMS, but will also be running stock H1's. Overall, I figure I should have a much thinner body than a full size, which is why I was hoping for the 8" or less lift. By the nature of mogs, I won't have much up travel in the front. The 9" diff front is a new thought in this build (long story, but I acquired a set of 406/9 mogs partially built), so that should help with the up travel compared to the huge 406 mog stock diff in the front.

What lift did you have on it, if you remember.

I dovetailed mine 18 inches and have a 4.5 lift with 42" tsl's it's really great cause i'm not that top heavy, 11 sounds like it would be too tipsy but i crawl and not mud so i don't know
This might be a dumb question but how do you go without a track bar?

The red bronco on my flickr page has 5.5"sus 3"body, 4.56 spooled rear locker in front, 44" tires on 15x12 rims, 351W, C4, and bump stops so I didn't smack the oil pan. Replaced the pan twice after bouncing it hard a time or to in some bad ruts. That's what it had when I had it.

Here are some EBs I have run across over the years with 44s:

The first two EBs in the photos squeeze 44s under them with 6-7" suspension lifts and 3" body lifts, but those were old stiff springs back in the 80s that didn't allow any flex.

The silver halfcab EB used a 4-link with who knows how much lift to fit those 54 boggers under it.

I bought a new set of 44 Ground Hawgs in 1993 to put on my yellow '76 and installed the 7" + 3" combo, but decided that for a daily driver, 44s just weren't practicle (yeah, why didn't I think of that before shelling out the dough for the tires in the first place.....) ;D

GOOD LUCK!

I figured that I am running about 5-6" lift with 40"s and wish I could figure out an easy way to lower the body. I am running 106" wheel base. I did chop the frame in the front and rear off and filled in with some 2" tube. I think I have somewhere around 5-6" of up travel. I did not have to cut the fenders out any higher than they already where from factory on the fiberglass.

I am running un-cut fenders with 42's. I took 26" out of the grill. It's not really "bobbed" at all, 50" at the widest part. I have 5.5" coils in the front. Used to run 5.5" leafs in the back but changed to a 4 link. If you tuck them in far enough you dont need any lift.;D
