So my stainless windshield hinge arrived today and I saw that the boxes looked like the UPS truck drove over them. Fortunately The SS T-case shifter and my hood hinges are alright. I ordered the parts from bronco-nut1 on ebay and gave him a call right after opened the box. He didn't answer so I left a message. Within 30 min he called me back and said he will be shipping me a new one. Even though my product was shipped damaged, he immediately took care of the problem. It's good to know that there is some good customer service on ebay.

Those of us who work or have worked in the shipping industry dont always handle things as we should (no, Im not a UPS or FedEx employee). If you havent already, file a complaint pronto, they will probably replace it.

Back in the summer I had to ship a piece of 4" diamater by 48" long piece of roundstock via ups. The driver told me not to worry about wrapping it up, because "I dont think we can break that". Well, not surprisingly, they lost it. ;D

Last few packages I have received from UPS have been left at the end of my driveway in mine or my neighbors yard. My drive way is 1000 feet long, I can understand this if the driveway was snow covered, but it has been clear the last few weeks.

I never had a problem with UPS, but I have with Fed Ex and will never use them again. they left about 4 packages 2 doors down and my house # is clearly marked.

I worked for UPS loading some of the trailers, and while I did try to take care of most of the packages, there was just sometime when we'd get hammered and you had to just go nuts! I'm not excusing UPS for broken packages, but it's lke being a waitor (tress), you don't appreciate that work until you do it. And the trailer I loaded went to my home town, so that was more incentive to keep it nice. I would hear that they could tell the difference between when I loaded the trailer and when I didn't.

Sorry about the hinge, file a complaint and they'll take care of it, but coordinate with the ebay guy.

Yeah I know stuff happens when shipping, but I'm glad the vendor is making it right without a fuss.

I've had a couple of incidents with both FedEx and UPS. In all cases, they did replace the damaged/missing parts (it did take some time, though).

My wife has worked at UPS for almost 13 years now loading trucks and in pick-off. Probably the best benefits you can get anywhere as long as you're not management. Free health insurance even if you have 10 kids and they still have a pension..

Aside from that she'll be the first to tell you that most of the time it's because people don't package their items worth a damn. You have to realize they're processing millions of packages and the package will have to travel across, sometimes, nearly a mile of conveyors. Getting jammed and then smashed by a 100lb box behind them because the new kid getting paid 8 bucks an hour was slacking off.

The losing stuff I just don't understand though.. They all have tracking numbers, unless someone didn't pack it right and it fell out of the box.

my .02 ;)

I had an issue with FedEx less than a month ago. I ordered something and about the day I thought I should have been to my house I checked on it online. It had been delivered two days earlier or so it said. I called fedex and told them. About 2 days later someone that lives about 15 min away from me called and said they had my package. Their address wasn't even close to mine. %) %)
