I did the ACC unit years ago in mine, with the wheel wells and tailgate and glad I did for just that little extra sound deadening. And while mine fit perfectly, we've had comments over the years about the actual cut size of their replacement carpet kits for Broncos. From too narrow (some floor showing) to too wide (had to trim) to just about right. So I'm guessing that there may be some hand-trimming involved at the factory? Never asked, but that sounds plausible.
Just as likely I think, is the floors being inconsistent between one Bronco and the next!
With the too narrow versions, it's easy to rattle can the exposed floor (usually less than 1/2" showing) to hide it next to the carpet edge. That's what I've done in the past. In some areas, it's hidden under the hold-down strip anyway.
For the too wide ones, it's trim time. Which I kind of expect frankly.
As far as I'm aware, we still offer them in whatever color is offered by them (
http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/CarpetColor) without any extra trouble or upcharge. But we're not going to stock all of those, so like most carpets were until recently, it would be a special order and you'd likely have to wait a week or so.
We stock our own in Black or light Gray, in a manufacture specifically expected to be slightly wider than needed so you can trim it to fit if you don't want to run it up the side.
It's about the only way to guarantee there will be enough carpet for everyone. Including those that want a little extra to run up some custom appendage or another.
Since we've made it so hard to find the color chart (it doesn't just pop up in the 66-77 carpet section anymore) it's possible we're trying to limit the number of special orders to reduce the issue of having a too narrow carpet arrive. I don't know this, but it sounds possible.
One bit of advice for anyone ordering a colored carpet from
ANYWHERE is that, if you're ever expecting to do other panels later, to just order the whole thing at the same time. Carpet colors can vary by batch. And carpet colors can fade much more quickly than you might think if you run without a top in the summer. And even a slightly mismatched color between a front and a rear, or a rear and a wheel well or tailgate, is really annoying!
