Just when I thought I had it all figured out.......

96 Explorer 5.0L mated to a ZF 5 speed with BCB's clutch and flywheel, backed up with an NP205. LOUD clicking when in neutral. but pressing in the clutch makes it go away. Also not there when driving.

Could use some help......The way I see it is if tranny is in neutral with clutch disengaged....all of the assembly is spinning and something in there is catching on something else. If the clutch is engaged, the clicking stops and when it's in gear and rolling there is no clicking.

Appreciate your input. B2

Is it clicking or more like a constant rattle? My ZF5 has always sounded like it had a handful of marbles inside it when it is in neutral. It was brand new in the factory crate almost 20 years ago and its still going strong.
