So it's been a busy string of months with few posts. Work has been taking way too much time and only recently have I gotten much of anything done on the bronco. What I have gotten done is mostly sheet metal work.

Drivers side floors, inner rocker, kick panel, inner fender and front door post patches are all ready to weld in. Outer rocker needed to be cut down about 3/8 to fit but fits well now.

This week I've been working on the two rear bed extensions and passenger side floors etc and those are nearly ready to weld!

Also worked with Melissa at Bronco Hut and got the upholstery ordered and a 6 pt cage from Bronco Bob that arrived Thursday

Also cut and welded bed patch where PO had installed a fuel cell and cut a hole for the sump.

It's not finished but should be just fine when it's done

So still looking to be good for the 19th. I will have all ready to weld in except maybe an anal retentive core support patch that I can't let go of. I'm hoping for a pretty easy day with a little welding and a lot of queing!!!!

All. I got dubbing around in the shop yesterday and realized this was about the last weekend that i would be able to set the body on the chassis before hunting, ski season, cold weather etc starts consuming weekends. So with some quick organizing and reinstalling the door braces, i got the body lifted off its cart, the chassis rolled in place and body dropped on with the 1" BL in place. It all seemed to line up really well including the core support and front body mounts which were off for rebuild. I had the ZF shifter opening just a tad to small and had to open that up ~ 1/4" on each side. After almost two and a half years and it looks sort of like a Bronco again!

one point, the fuel rail inlet is really close to the firewall. can the angle of the tubing be tweaked a bit, or is the tubing too brittle, thin or thick for that?

Hank

I dubbed around some more last night. the clearance between the underside of hood and lower intake isnt enough to fit the exploder upper. im short by about an inch and a half. the hood isnt bolted in, nor is the grill in, so maybe i have more coming to me than it looks like right now. i really like the way it sits :)

an update for progress so far in 2016. its been a busy year with lots of travel right after ski season wrapped up (i got the first of nine prof. ski instructor exams out of the way !!). That travel allowed for a quick visit to Fabulous Fords Forever!!

Following work travel ( Venice Italy, nice! ) it was time for number one daughter to graduate high school. getting Dad here and back from SW Colorado for that was a team effort between my sister and i shepherding him by car to New Hampshire. That travel allowed for a quick stop by Carlisle Ford Nationals!

so Dad is home, NOD is running the roads enjoying her summer before college and i finally get back into the shop.

Roll cage is welded together. im taking it by a local powder coat house tomorrow to get a firm estimate.

ive been dry fitting much of the underhood stuff to show horn the 351 EFI in there. its very very close but doable with the 1" BL.

i have a week of vacation later this month and i hope to wrap up the sheet metal work and perhaps put the door shells together.

seems like not much progress to show, but simple things like cutting down the explorer coil bracket to fit and fabricating throttle cable brackets takes time...

Nice work Hank!
If you ever travel to Washington state bring your roll bar. I'll do it for free for you. I owe you a couple anyway for parts you've helped me with.
Now if your shop wants more than $200-250 slap them. It's clean enough for a quick blast then powder it up.
Keep it up can't wait to see it running.
