They'll be Yukons since that's more the price range I was going for. The Superiors seem to be about $100-150 more a set. I'll see if I can get separate pricing on Superiors.

Anyone running Yukons now? I'm not familiar with them. Any of the Bronco houses sell them?

What kind of price are we looking at here? i dont even know the retail price. But after seeing a guy bust both front axles this weekend (at one time), I am thinking from axle upgrade is not a bad idea.

Having busted a rear in the past, upgrading there might not be a bad idea either.

JBG sells Yukon's. I got part of mine from there and part from Randy's Ring & Pinion. I currently have one Yukon long side front in and had a 28 spline Yukon in the back. So far I have not busted either one. I now run Dutchman 35 splines in the back but I have the other Yukon short side sitting here for the front along with the new Yukon Super Joints to go in both sides on the front. The only reason they are not in yet is because I still need to get another stub for the front so that the entire setup is alloy.

anyone know if you can modify/rebuild/change out parts on a detroit locker to change from 28 to 31 splines. i thought i read somewhere you could just oder some of the internals and such and rebuild an originally 28 spline locker to accept the 31 spline shafts. ?:?

cause if so, i might be interested in both front and rear shafts.

I might be interested in some heavy front axles w/ CTM's for the D44. Post info on price and warranty, when you get some possible cost info.

Thanks!

Yes, however it isn't cheap. If I recall right it is in the neighborhood of $150 for each side (I.E. About $300) and the parts need to be special ordered. At one time I had the part numbers for doing it. Doing it this way you would save about $120. I would guess that you can sell yours for a good bit more than $120 and just get a new one and be out less money.

You have my interest although mostly for the rear 31 spline. I could use a new short side on the D44 and keep the HD as a spare. I have a spare long side but who doesn't. I'll be watching. My off season Bronco projects are piling up, why not axle shafts too while I'm in there. %)

Count me in for a D44 set, already have the 31 spline axles in the rear.
Thanks for the effort Jon!

Maybe I wont get in on this mass buy and instead have everyone send me their old D44 axles. Then Ill have spares for many moons to come.

Will this be on full width axles too? If so, I am most definitely interested. I need some yesterday. 30 spline front and 35 slpine rear. And either Ox/CTM joints would be great too! ;)

I was pricing axle the other day. I think I might have an axle slipping in the splines. I have not tore it down yet, but it would be a good time to up grade to 31's. Only catch is I need 31 spline small bearing axles or a new big bearing housing to swap in.

Jon, I already have alloy shafts front & rear, but if you can get a discount on either OX or CTM u-joints I'd buy a pair of those. (I'd prefer CTM's but I've heard they've never discounted them to anyone or a mass buy.)
