Bought these Mevotech Front Coil springs from Rock Auto - but here's a link to them at Summit:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mev-sms812v

Trying to fix saggy springs on a stock height 72 half cab - someone had hung to biggest baddest gigantic winch bumper on it at some point - and a big heavy winch.

Then they dropped in a 351 reman... they didn't do the poor stock springs any favors... Under the truck a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that the oil pan has a nice dent from the D44 pumpkin.

The winch is long gone and the bumper soon will be - but I gotta replace the springs.

Has anybody used these? They say "Made in the USA" - and I think the Mevotech ball joints have a good rep (besides the upper not fitting...sometimes)

I should add they were available on Rock Auto (Summit shows them Out of Stock) - for $80 - plus rock auto shipping - which probably was $20 or so...

Thanks for the support. But it looks like the OP has already bought the Mevotech branded product.
I’m familiar with the company but I can’t say I’ve heard of anyone here having used the springs before.
Have you got them installed yet? Or checking with others before you get to that point?

I’ve not used that exact spring but do have mevotech coils on the back of my bronco and couldn’t be happier. My rear springs are stock Heep JK fronts.

DirtDonk is right - I already have the springs in hand. I was actually shopping on Rock Auto for a bunch of "tune-up" stuff for my "cheap" neighbor's half cab - and was just checking to see what was available (probably a year ago?) The springs were out of stock - so I set up a notification to email me if they ever came back in stock... finally got the email last week... and I knew his front end was saggy... - so I kinda ordered the springs without thinking about it...
I forgot that the Bronco Vendors carry stock springs... Doh - sorry Wild Horses... my bad
In my defense - I'm not used to working on STOCK Broncos !!!!

Haven't installed them yet - so I guess my neighbor will be the Guinea Pig...

Since they have 812 in the title, I wonder if they're the same thing as the Moog CC812 springs?

I googled around a bit for Moog CC812 - and they seemed out of stock at Summit and one other place, although one site seemed to have some good specs on them - spring rate & free length and such... I'm just glad these aren't made in China - or at least the box isn't....

You might want to measure your friend’s half-cab’s ride height as it is now, before you put the new coils in.
Half-cabs do tend to sit high in the rear, which makes them look like they’ve sagged in the front.
Springs do sag, of course, so it may very well be true that the originals have lost some of their luster. But even if they have, it’s still nice to know what you’ve gained with the new.

Measure between the top of the axle tube and the bottom of the frame rail (both front and back while you’re at it) and let us know what it sits at now.
Stock is approximately 7 inches, give or take, so anything more than, say a half an inch below that is the amount of sag.

I always thought stock ride height was 7 1/2 , but you're the Experto.

Rear measures 7 3/8
Front measures 5 3/4 with the winch bumper, and maybe 6 without it - and I might be a little too generous with that added 1/4" - the bumper didn't end up being that heavy - maybe 40-50 lbs, so it wasn't the boat anchor I was hoping it was. No matter - it's gone and not going back on.

As I mentioned before, the oil pan has a dent from the D44 pumpkin - so she's gotten a bit saggy in her 51 years. (Don't tell her I said that). And I'm sure the nice iron 351W Reman isn't helping the situation. As best I can figure, someone had air bags on the front of this thing at one point - probably a requirement with the winch and bumper on it. If I can figure out/remember how to post pics - I will. Tried using my Google Drive link - and it doesn't work.

That 7 1/2 inches is just as reasonable as seven.
It’s never been an exact measurement because not every bronco came exactly the same out of the factory.
So 7 inches, give or take a half an inch, has been kind of the go to for quite a few years now.
The rear has been 6 inches approximately. Give or take…

So it sounds like you are slightly lifted in the rear, either from the light weight of the half-can (and perhaps a heavy duty package option?) or perhaps an add-a-leaf.

The front is definitely sagged, but a winch and bumper were not likely the least of the reasons.
Although, like you said, the bumper was not all that heavy, if it ever had a winch hanging out front there at anywhere from it from an additional 75 to 150 pounds, that would’ve certainly justified the airbags!

With new stock height coils in place, you should be back up to your 7 inches plus or minus pretty quickly.
And maybe a better ride at the same time too as a bonus.

Thanks DirtDonk - I'm not sure if these springs were advertised as variable rate or not - I think Summit might describe them that way.

Maybe all stock coil springs are "variable rate" - I haven't even opened the box yet.

I never saw the winch he had on this thing - but judging from the rest of the truck - I suspect it wasn't "light and state of the art" 🤠

Thanks again for your help. I've never driven a "stock" height and sprung bronco with nice small tires like this one - so I'm curious to see how it is.

This thing also has dual shock mounts front and rear - so I might need some help picking out new stock shocks for it. I can just measure the old front ones but the rear "behind the axle" shocks are missing - so I guess it's tape measure time.
