Axles break, ujoints break more often and usually take out the axle when they grenade.
Unless you don't wheel a ton then it's a matter of money vrs being stranded on the trail when the next one grenades.
Anybody can break anything. Bouncing on high traction surfaces kills ujoints and axles- will take out RCV's also. Enough torque multiplication and traction and parts grenade just can't take it.
For decades for a huge majority of us it was all about cost vrs can I fix it for cheap wherever I might need to. Doesn't seem to be an issue for many anymore but yes, those at WH are the ones.
Benefit to RCV's is an almost total lack of torque steer too.
