So this will be up to date. I was going to continue on the front motor area but I'm not sold on using the OE rails yet. If I can come up with a way to get a continuous tub or something stronger up front I'll do it. But here's what today brought. Oh and a pick of the crew checking out their seat assignments. I kept going back and forth on how I wanted to run the tube from the B pillar through the C down to the tail and this is what I decide on and I like it way better than how I had it taped out. Man I've been looking for a fuel cell to fit back there and crap, why does everyone just make square tanks. So far I've came up with a 4 Gal Wedge Aluminum RCI or a Urethane Jaz 8 Gal. Wish I could find a 8-12 Gal Wedge no more than 14"x14" that is made of Steel or Aluminum so I could get modified if needed. I'd just make my own if I knew how to use a TIG but I don't seem to stop long enough to learn.

So I'm making good progress. Figure within the next few weeks I might be at a stand still if I don't get the T case in time. I'm hoping to get it by the end of January but if not it'll just be on hold till I get it in hand so I can design the crossmember that the one link joints will mount from.

On the fuel cell, if you cant find what you are looking for on the market, you might be able to have one custom built to fit by a fab shop.

edit: I just had a thought, maybe something like this could work. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200565381504+,200565381504&viewitem=

I have the 8''x30'' version on my Rail, it holds about 7 gallons. The 10''x30'' holds 10 I think. 10"x40" might be too long, but it holds 13 gallons.

If you send me a sketch of what you want with dimensions and such, I can work up a number and build it for you from steel, aluminum or stainless. let me know.

10-4 I'll let ya know. I just don't want to spend an arm and a leg. The 4 Gal I found is only $150 and Aluminum.

I think I can do a 12 for that. It only gets pricey when you start to do a lot of different facets on it to fill up the entire space. For a basic 6 sided unit,of about any configuration, the work is about the same.

Haha guys. So tonight I finished up all of the B pillar back and taped out the rest. Also got the cross section in connecting the C pillars. This will also be where the top two tubs will shoot down for the rear pan hard bar. For a lower tube coming back into the cage I'll holesaw the back of the tub to attach it lower on the C pillar for triangulation. You can see were I'll run tub from the B pillar to the rear cross to strengthen it once I get the rear seat in. From that mid point on the B pillar I'll run up to the center of the roof.

Ya know, just the other day I was thinking " i should make a 3/4 sized Bronco for my kids out of a small foreign car and a golf car body".
Dang it you beat me to it.
Looks great. It's going to be fun to follow.

Man that's not funny. I love doing thing and coming up with ideas before anyone else. So I kept pretty tight lipped about my idea for a few years. Then one day I was sharing my secret fantasy with a friend of mine. I was sure not to tell too many people before I got a chance to get everything together so someone wouldn't snatch my idea. At that time like three years ago I was considering just building a rear engine buggy. Then my buddy broke my heart. Hey ya know there's a guy on youtube that built a rear engine buggy for his kids. RATS! Back tot the drawing board I've got to come up with something better. Wallah! I came up with this. When I was competing at TTC 2009 there was a single seat Baby Willys that someone had built for their kid. I know we don't praise those kinda around here but the workmanship was to worship over. It was powered by like a Honda mower motor with some type of side by side solid axles. I only had my video camera and I never edited the film to get a stand still pick but I will and post it. See there is a long line of history here. lol

Update 2/23/11

Currie F9 together and wheel tire combo I picked up for cheap. The BFG's are Blue but they'll do for the kiddies.

Dude, words do not begin to describe how stoopid crazy cool this is gonna be.
I need to win the lottery and have you build me one. I'm 39 but my wife says I am just a big kid.
