My 72 half cab build.

Before welding anything I zip screwed everything together to make sure it was all going to work. Those fender aprons were also panels that we bent ourselves. The pass fender is one that the guy in Virginia was throwing away.

After getting the front half mocked up I decided it was time to get started cutting on the back half and getting what was usable cleaned up and I made a new cross-member out of a piece of 2x3 rectangular 1/4" tubing.

Thank you that cross-member is like a second rear bumper, and was very fun building. At the end of the day I like to sit and drink beer while admiring the work I did. Its hard to go in the house.

Finally decided everything was going to work and went ahead and did some welding.

I bought a couple of parts rigs and got some really nice parts and decided that the project was coming along so good that I needed to make a roller stand for it since the weather was starting to get nice out and it was no longer apart in small enough pieces to get outside to work on.

I wasn't happy so I went on a road trip for a half cab and this is where I started calling vendors for new panels. The reason for calling this "my 66-77 build" is because it has parts from all those years and I have a title for a 72.

My pics stop right there and I have made some progress since but I wasn't happy with how the doors were lining up so I ended up cutting those used door posts back off and I,m waiting on the new ones right now. I also have a new bulkhead and rocker panels that need to go on. I'll post up some more pics when that work begins.

My wife keeps telling me that I could have had 10 bronco's built if I would stay off this site and go out and work on it, then she says that goes for all you men on there. I personally am just a little burnt out on mine right now. I am hoping come winter time when I get laid off from work I'll be able to get back into it. I admit that when I go out to work on it right now I can't get into it and come back into the house and get back on here.

I don't know if the info on Photoscape helped at all, but I have learned a lot from your pictures. I'm anxious to see you project finished. I envy the bodywork skills you have. shaun1300

Computer problems

I am 67 and the PC is one of my hobbies. Feel free to email or pm me if I can help in future. I live outside Rochester NY which is 4 hours away from you. My wife told me the other day if we won a million dollars I couldn't buy another Bronco to swap parts with my 68. I don't pay much attention to that kind of talk, I have German toy in my garage that replace an Italian one (no exotics) so EB sits outside. I am determined we take a 3 week vacation in my 68 in next couple of years. shaun1300

There ya go, a three week vacation in a early bronco sound like a great time and maybe this time next year I'll be able to do that. I appriciate the offer of help on the pc and I'll remember that for future problems. Thanks, Pat.

a week vacation in an EB that you have Blood, sweat and tears into sounds cool. I hope to be ready for the Baja 500 next year, that will be awsome

Things are on hold right now because we started into a lot of overtime at work, but I took a ride this morning and got a 60/40 seat from a 2001 mazda 3000. Its in nice shape and I think it is going to fit the bronco nicely too. When I got it home I set it in place and it is the perfect width.

Well I worked on the bronco this weekend and I must say that I think I am about to give it up, There is no way the doors are ever going to fit right. I went through 2 sets of door posts and 2 sets of kick panels, and in my opinion the aftermarket panels that are available are just not made right.

Well the bronco went in reverse cause I didn't like how the doors were lining up so I cut the door posts and kick panels back off.
