Killed the rear CV. The ball and socket busted. Too much angle, I knew this was going to happen, it's been making noise. Trying to figure out what I'm going to do next. True Hi 9, $$$$$$$ (the right way). Different driveshaft, $ (and won't live long). Or...?

My Build, El Macho ("finished" for AZ Stampede - made it!)

Hi 9 and be done with it. Yes they are pricey but no longer having the worry or aggravation when it breaks will pay for itself in spades. Or possibly drop your trans mount some if you have the room to reduce the driveline angles.

You are correct. Hi9 is the only real long term fix. Time to save up some nickles and dimes. And likely go ARB, will make it nicer to drive on the street.

Moving stuff to reduce angles is temporary but it would help. Will still be at limits of driveshaft angles.

You may be able to fab a temporary trans brace to drop it till you save up... at least enough to keep it useable but you will just have to try and control the skinny pedal when you are out playing...

Still on track. Still going to be cutting it close. Fired it up with the FItech system yesterday. Chased down some fuel leaks. Gas pedal and steering column in. Glass in.

See you at the 2016 AZ Stampede!

Wow, these pics look eerily similar to my build! It looks like you used the exact same color that I used! I haven't seen too many this shade of green. Good choice!

My green was from the color book my paint guy had and was Xterra color from the early 2000's.

Guess I could also drop it down a little too. Less lift. Which is cheaper than a fancy new rear center section.

Bronco sits a little higher than I wanted anyway. I'll have do some geometry. Hmmm.... I'm quoting myself replying to myself.

How long is your rear driveshaft? What angle is it at now? Just curious as I've had a very short rear driveline for 10 years now with my 700R4 and 4 speed Atlas. Even with fairly religious lubrication, the CV centering ball wears out pretty reliably about every 15k miles based on my records. I'm thinking of a True Hi9 as well - will need to save up some pennies and pick up some aluminum cans.

Rear driveshaft is about 31 3/4". Running 27 degrees! (It should be 15ish max for street use). What angle do you run?

Yep, True Hi9. Or a GearWork HP10. Both $$$.

I had the rear shaft rebuilt and had it clearance a little more. Even though I know it's a band-aid fix.

Mine's in the 2X" range, maybe 26"? I recall that it's about 10" shorter than stock. 17 deg. angle between the t-case output and the driveshaft.

Really like those visors. Were they a new purchase or off of the group buy a few years ago? If new can I please get the part# and would like to see some installed photos.

Just ordered them from Rosen. Not sure of the part number, it's the same ones that ICON uses. Cheaper through Rosen than the markup price through ICON. (And more $ than when offered on the group buy a few years ago.)

Went with all the bells and whistles, ARB, 35 spline, 2nd load bolt, even REM (super polished) gears.

My rear driveline angle is out of control, this should help.
