I was hoping to see pics of the refurb in progress.

my cameraman was working on wiring.... wasnt much, $5 trip to the hobby store for some paint and a pack of 2 brushes did the needles, just tear up some paper and jamb behind each needle while you paint it.

i sandblasted the facia taped off the innermost ring and painted it flat black with some rattlecan and then changed my red high beam indicator to a blue one :)

I had responded the other day to this (should have been the first reply, just a few minutes after you posted), but don't see it posted up for some reason. Hmm,
Anyway, I said it was from a pair of 3D glasses from when you went to see Plan 9 From Outer Space the last time.
I still like that answer, but thing the others are making more sense.

Ahhh, so it's all your fault? Of course, couldn't be me going senile or anything like that.
Must be one of those "old" things going on then. And since I'm on an old tangent, what about those old BlueDot mooneyes thingies that they used to put on the tail lights back in the fifties and sixties?

Bottle caps getting the closest, eh? Pilfering parts out of your old antique glass bottle collection? Fish aquarium fodder? Your dad's marble collection?
I'm still thinking...

A small piece of translucent blue plastic from the cap of a ballpoint pen.

Metal, plastic, or glass?

1. Sun-visor bill?
2. Drain plug from a stainless thermos?
3. Plastic prize thingy from a box of Cracker Jacks?
4. Lens from your complimentary REI compass for submitting your membership?
5. Thinly stretched blueberry flavored condom?
6. Baby formula bottle cap because #5 was not an option, at the time?

Ok, I give up. Aren't you glad?
