I have found this under the dash, is it for the radio or what would it be for if not the radio.

It's not for the radio. What are both wire colors to the connector?

The colors are small brown and small red. It goes to the upper two wire connector on the firewall center, and the funky connector goes to another funky connector to the odd plate on the drivers door post.

So what does the door post have anything to do with the engine controls.

I checked out the 72 next to it in the garage, I did not want to look under the dash in that one. Now I see a rewire is needed there.

Thanks

not a flux capacitor as I have had it up to 88 miles and hour and i didnt go back to 1972.

It goes to the ambient temp switch in the door post. One year only emissions equipment on the '72.

Well now I can remove all of that and the connector in the firewall.

Thanks.
