New Jeeps has been tainted by FIAT.
If your thinking about buying a new Jeep, think long and hard.

May I ask why?
Been riding around in my buddies 2019 unlimited Rubicon and it seems pretty well thought out.

Sorry, Don't agree at all with Jeepster, my 2012 JKUR bought new has been awesome. I love it and the new JL's are even better. I'd buy a new one in a heartbeat, but I'm hoping the new Bronco is something that I want!

I for one will be waiting for this new unit to see what's it all about.

For me it's the price. Even the used ones are priced in the $30,000 range. To rich for my blood, especially for a used one.

I've been looking to buy a used 4 door one. And the prices are crazy, with crazy miles on them. I have a 13 Raptor with 49k miles on it, I can't bring my self to sell it and buy a used Jeep with double the miles for 10k less than what my truck is worth.

Earlier this year I was considering an early Bronco but got fed up with scammer sale listings and high prices. I was also considering a new JL, when a $6000 TJ popped up a couple miles from my house. Jumped on that instead.

This TJ has been a fun vehicle especially for my high school age sons. The top is rarely on. My son thanked me for not buy a 4 door "old person Jeep" as he put it, lol. I think it's hard to beat the fun/cost ratio of older Jeeps right now, what with crazy Bronco prices and all.

Still considering new JL. You can swing a new 4 door Sport model for around $32,000 (+ taxes). Then will need to at least upgrade tire size.

I wonder what the new Bronco will do to early Bronco prices (if it ever shows up). I think it might put a damper at least on certain high end prices. Because if the new Bronco is done well and resembles the old Bronco, it will be a tougher sell getting someone to drop 40 grand on an EB, when same cash can buy a new one. At least for folks who aren't dead set on an old truck.

We love our 2015 Jeep unlimited Rubicon. They hold their value well, but you can find deals if you look long and hard. We paid $35k for our 2015 fully loaded with 21k miles in January 2017, cpo. the newer ones are nicer even. I wouldn't consider buying a new Bronco just to show commitment to the name on the truck. Hopefully Ford earns the business.

Didn’t realize I wandered into the Jeep forum

I'd love an early Bronco and still keep an eye out for one but the prices have jumped the shark. Also hoping Ford hits a home run with the new Bronco. That might even put a damper on EB prices, when a certain segment of the buying public, realizes they can get a new Bronco for less than an old one.

Hmm lots of nice early Bronco's for sale here on this site for 25-35k and yet the new jeeps are about same price and nobody has an issue buying a new jeep that will loose value as an early Bronco for same money is gaining value. Huh I am confused? No pride in Building a Bronco but lots of pride in a car payment? Also the retro styled new mustangs and Shelbys haven't hurt classic mustang and Shelby values. lol I don't think a new Bronco will dent the classic Bronco and suv scene. Most people will have both.

Does anyone still build their own besides paying a builder? I'm starting to think people just drive around here with wads of cash in their pocket looking for nice broncos.

Nothing wrong with paying a builder, I wish I could of done that. But it is a good feeling when you're out and about or at a car show when someone asks "did you build it?" Yup.

I use to tinker around with my Broncos, but that's also when I had more time and very little money. Now, at 41, married and with two teenage boys that are active in community service, along with athletics, I don't have time.

If I have to pay someone, like I will for future FI throttle body install, new steering column and disk brake conversion, then who cares?!? I'd rather have it done right, then to do it myself...mess it up like I always do, then have to suck up my pride to have someone repair my costly mistake.

There's room for those that pay for their Broncos and those that work on them themselves. As long as it's a Bronco, then you're alright in my book.

I just got tired of paying shops to do stuff wrong. I soon realized it was cheaper and better to buy the tool and do it myself. Now with my bad back I use a friend with a shop to do what I can get done here. He sees more ebs now with all the guys flipping polished up turds out here. I get the occasional call for best options to fix the carnage underneath.

The amount of new jeeps on the road around here is crazy, the prices both new and used for Jeeps is crazy and like others have said hope Ford has been paying attention to it.

Now that I am getting older I understand why people pay people to build them trucks and if you got the cash why not? I don't have the cash to pay someone to do it for me yet but I also don't have the time I used to.

I am really hoping the new bronco hits the mark. I would love to have a new Ford that has some vintage styling, capability off road, and the modern creature comforts in it. I drive my F250 everyday but I would like something a little smaller as my daily driver and save the superduty for towing and hauling. Come on Ford show us this thing!

Same here. I drive my 2007 F150 as a daily driver. However, it's time to downsize. I was going to go with the Toyota Tacoma, especially after the new Ranger is only a 2.3L. However, I just read an article that the 2020/2021 Ranger will be made into a Raptor and also a V6 edition.

I am also hoping, like you, that the 2020/21 Bronco hits the mark. If not, then for sure I'll be getting a Tacoma for me and a 4Runner for the wife.

There are two different kinds of Bronco owners that hire someone to work on their Bronco:

1. The ones that know how to work on it, but due to some reason or other choose to have it done for them.

2. The ones that if you opened the hood for them they would not have a clue what they are looking at.

Yes and no, this leaves a lot to being vague. We have many that roll through our doors where someone who could work on them thought they had a great ride, an expected bronco experience with all of its quirks, then they go for a ride with me and discover that a log truck of a ride is no ride at all. Most are afraid to drive above 60 but when we are done I have customers who drive them past 100 (though I do not recommend it) regularly. There is a difference an anything between a beginner and a seasoned veteran as it shows in all types of jobs etc. so to lump them into to two categories is really not an accurate breakdown of why people, seek builders out. I say most of them that come to my shop know what they want but don't know how to get it there. Thats where we shine.

$30,000 for an EB. Probably $40,000 for a new Bronco after taxes. Total 70 grand. Most people will have both? No offense but, if most Bronco owners see that as a norm, it's kind of Exhibit A on how the Bronco hobby has gentrified.
