$30,000 for an EB. Probably $40,000 for a new Bronco after taxes. Total 70 grand. Most people will have both? No offense but, if most Bronco owners see that as a norm, it's kind of Exhibit A on how the Bronco hobby has gentrified.

Most?
I've been in the game over 50 years now. Started out as a starving high school student and am now an old man. When I started a nickel looked as big as a manhole cover and I drove the very bottom end of the vehicle pool. I am now probably one of the "gentrified" as you define. When I look around I still see my neighbor kid who is working on his bronco that is held together with duct tape and rust. There is still a wide spectrum of EB's out there . For every 30K Bronco I see 5 $12K ones

Well with there being a market for Bronco builders, that have been in business for some time now for the folks that call 1-800-build-me-a-Bronco, they are the ones who will also have a new one. (If its good) I also have an early Bronco I bought just before the boom and... well if a new Bronco is 30k the wife and I can swing that payment. There for, having both and...still not rich lol and with new debt. (blah) I enjoy having none. I would bet its safe to say there are many on this site that may very well eventually have both. Also just like with all new cars If the new Bronco comes out in 2020 well then in 2025 I could probably get one at a reduced price I am sure.

I'll sniff around in 2026 when the first Bronco Raptors start coming off lease.
2020 will be the first run.
36 month leases will come up in 2023; so they'll announce the Raptor Edition or some other named variant to keep people on the cycle.
2026 I'll look for one that was bought and never left the streets.

Oh I have plans of having both, the wife is ready to get rid of her 17 Armada. The new Bronco will be the replacement unless it's dog ugly. Then she will either get a new Wrangler or Land Rover.

Sorry, Don't agree at all with Jeepster, my 2012 JKUR bought new has been awesome. I love it and the new JL's are even better. I'd buy a new one in a heartbeat, but I'm hoping the new Bronco is something that I want!

FIAT didn't join up with Chysler till 2014-15 (?) so you're safe.
This is still America, and everyone is welcome to their own opinion.

Buy one and let everyone know in a couple years right after you sell it.;D

Well that was helpful...I am sincerely interested in potential problems.
If you know something please share.
If all you know is that you hate Fiat please let me know that also.

It's not that I "Hate" Fiat, It's that Fiat vehicles are unreliable and have electrical and mechanical issues as they age.
Have you ever heard the saying "Fix It Again Tony"?
It sums up the general quality issues with Fiat.
The only reason any Co. thinks about a merger with any Co.that has the "Jeep" name is the Jeep name.
It's a money grab.
I will not be surprised if you see Fiat stop selling their sub par vehicles in the US again as the sales of their vehicles are hardly selling now due to this fact.
If you really want a "Jeep" lease it. That way you can give it back before it nickles and dimes your bank acct.
Older Jeeps (pre 2014) are better.

I am holding my breath on the new Bronco.
It will not be the "Classic" Bronco all over again, but I hope it will be in the "Ball park" and just not an other vehicle with the "Bronco" name affixed to it for a money grab.

like I said ....RANGER RAPTOR .... bronco raptor please !!!

It'll happen, but it won't be Year 1.
New Ranger in 2019. Expect Raptor in years 2/3. I'd venture it's coming after the Bronco (to have a headliner/media coverage).
So if it's a 2020 Bronco, then it's a 2021 Ranger Raptor (US), then 2022/23 Bronco Raptor.

I've been in the old vehicle game for a while as well, and lately some older guy is looking back at me in the mirror, how did that happen!?

I bought my first 4x4 in 1989, a used CJ7 for $6000. (Still have that vehicle.) The thing is, I bought my used TJ (nice condition) several months ago, also for $6000. And for me that reflects the problem with Bronco gentrification. Just because my wallet is way fatter now, my reasons for liking older 4x4s haven't changed, particularly as budget friendly utility vehicles with which to have fun. I could throw 30 grand at some early Bronco, but you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hand. :)

Also clue me in on all these decent 12K Broncos. At my son's soccer match Tuesday night there were 3 older Wranglers. One spray painted rattle can primer black. Remember those days, lol. There's an EB on Craigs List 100 miles from me looking all knackered for 12 grand. No high school kids in my zip code are going to be messing with that stuff.

Big problems ate comming for Jeep. Their early 2000 models are dying from computer failures with no replacements available. Jeep stopped making them an no one is rebuilding them yet my friends Jeep has been parked for 2 years now cant pass smog test due to failure in the computer and wont buy computer from wrecking yard for another expensive no guarentee electrical part that they cant get a replacement for eithor.

2013 Rubicon, 50,000 miles, never seen a mechanic other than regular service. Strongly eyeballing the 2021 Gladiator with diesel, unless Ford hits it out with the NB or Raptor which is sadly bottom of the truck pile in stats. Sorry the Glad has same stats as a 1500 Dodge Ram.

Good to see you still around:cool:

It's all good.
Used to have a Bronco II, The wife loved it. (Mainly her ride).
I would love to buy another one, Reason I am keeping my eye on the progress of the new Bronco. I hope Ford doesn't drop the ball. I do realize that this is not the 70's and vehicles have advanced greatly. I hope Ford can make a vehicle that can compete with the Jeep toe to toe. Soft top, removable doors, ability to modify. Not just brute power like the raptor. Something that can be a daily yet take of business when need be.;D

I'd say they have had big problems for a couple of decades now. You can attach that old axiom from boat owners to jeep owners.... the two happiest days.
