I'd be over the moon if they included a roll down rear window...
Like the fullsize Bronco? Uhh, had one in Alaska, anyplace it snows, that thing froze solid, could not get into back 4 months of the year.

Now, what it needs are fold out side rear windows like the chrysler minivan

Pretty much take all the nice and cool bells and whistles off a 4Runner and put them in a bronco...

One issue I see with it being flat towable is the front hubs that the IFS Fords use. They lock every time the engine is turned off because they are vacuum operated. I guess it's not a big deal because I think the jeeps are always locked in also. It just seems like it would cause less wear if they could free wheel like our old hubs do.

actually there has been a lot of fords that can be flat towed, but most of the newer ones has to have 4x4. I could flat tow my expedition if I wanted to. but I will not because its a little to heavy. I just purchased a F150 to tow. oh btw it has nothing to do with IFS just the transfer case and 4x4:)

Didn't even an older 1356 case have issues flat towing due to lack of oil circulation when not being driven??

Oh crap! Ford forgot it was a leap year and threw off their whole schedule promising to deliver in March. Back to the drawing board :)

I honestly don't remember:( could be they get oiled from the input shaft like the D20's. some toads have a speed limit restriction at 65 and others need a pump, but not fords or jeeps its one reason why they are popular. I don't drive past 65 towing with or without in the MH anyway.
Sorry for the slight hijack

I don't keep up with the newer stuff, but I think that one has a pump. I remember changing a transfer case on a full size once because of the pump. The pump siezed up, spun on the shaft, balled up, broke the range fork loose and powershifted the transfer case from high to low range while driving.

Every modern transfer case I know of (I don't know that many) has an oil pump on the rear output shaft. Circulates the ATF through the upper parts of the transfer case. A pump has less drag (better fuel economy) than splash lube. Planetary gears and chain drive will be happy on lighter weight oils too.

I will be buying one if Ford screws up the new Bronco !

Same here, hard to balk at 440ft/lbs of torque going up a hill.

Just priced lowest entry level at around $43,000 with basic engine and tran, which adds $6k due to eng tranny combo. Rubi just over $50. No leather, but heat/tow/stereo package

I think the new Gladiator is a game changer. With a diesel even better! I hope the (who knows how long out) Bronco truck is a competitor.

This is our plan as well most likely if the new Bronco doesn't do it for us. 4 door, moderately loaded with leather seats, diesel and 8sp auto for under $40k will be tempting.

I wonder if this is why the Gladiator isn't selling well...people are just waiting to see what Ford will do and decide from there.

I do not think that people who are prone to buying Jeeps would hold off on buying one until they see the new Bronco, but that’s just me. I do think you are seeing a lot of the frustration with the Ford crowd in introducing the Bronco in all the “I might buy a Jeep” comments. At this moment, it is the most capable off road shorter wheelbase product offered new period.

I do think the gladiator is kind of ugly personally. If I want a pickup I will buy an F series that fits my needs. If I want to buy an off road capable product, right now it would be a two or four door Jeep.

I’m waiting for the Bronco to see what it is (I do here it is very cool)....but if I don't like it I will be buying a Gladiator. I am in the need for a new truck (I don't tow a ton..just my duck boat, decoys, 4 wheeler, deer..etc..so it will fit my needs for about 95% of what I want it for)...My wife already has a 4 door rubicon and I do like driving it (its a square/box off-road vehicular which I am attracted too)...If I like the new Bronco I will get one...keep my pickup for hauling sh$t around....if not then a Gladiator will be in the driveway.....(I have my hopes up and fingers crossed its the Bronco!!!!!!);D

Good point. I was anxiously waiting for a Wrangler pickup to come out for years myself. But after a while i realized it won't be as good an off-roader as my Rubicon because of the length, and not as good as my F-150 because of the short bed. In other words, I already have the best of both worlds! Waiting to see what the new Bronco is like though!

I am confident they are waiting for diesel to come out.

F series have a diesel? Nope. Large V8? Nope.

Hope it does not follow footsteps of Grand Cherokee diesel which were mostly bought back by Chrysler.

Have to admit,I had no come back with the wifey on needing to buy a 1500 Ram, when I drove home with two 4x8 sheets of plywood on top of my 2 door wrangler. I bought a 4x6 trailer I dubbed "Dodge 2500".
