Had anyone compiled a running list of new bronco issues/problems? My buddy wants to buy a new bronco, manual trans. But he wanted to know of any weak points or areas to buy aftermarket upgrades. Thanks

Depends on intended use I suppose. For example -

For serious rock crawling, etc the front tie rod mod is a good idea.

The Goodyear tires that come w Sasquatch package will throw rocks and chip your paint bad, so some sort of rock/mud flaps are a good idea.

Bronco 6G site has pages of problems. Just like any other car there can be issues with anything. I have had three new broncos but all are automatics.
These are the issues I have had:
My wifes 2022 has had issues with the windows not going back up properly after the door is opened and closed passenger side rear window. It was taken back to the dealer and fixed at no charge and
My 2023 2door has the annoying wiper slow down issue. Put the wipers on intermittent and it will slow down to only stroking every 20 or 30 seconds. There has been a recall for it but I have not brought it back. Not sure what is more annoying the wipers or dealing with the dealer!
Both the trucks have occasional issues with the screen/display/radios. My wifes dosent always play well with her phone. And my screen will get stuck sometimes after it is startered and just be black or not play anything. Most of the time it corrects itself within a few minutes, other times if I turn the truck off and turn it back on its all good.

My wifes 4 door Black Diamond 2.3 auto has about 50,000 miles on it and has been trouble free with exception of the above listed items. We wheeled it pretty hard at Rausch Creek Off road last year and it did everything with ease. We have hauled the kids and dog around and it has been on a bunch of long trips. Its a fun truck and I really dont have any over all complaints!
I had a 4 door Badlands for about 4 months before I traded it in, only put about 3K miles on it and never had a problem.
I now have a 2 door Blackdiamond with about 15,000 miles on it, no problems except for the above. Its a pavement pounder but has the 2.7 V6 and is a total blast to drive!

My buddy mainly goes to the snow with his family. Nothing hard-core wheeling wise.

i've had my 22 for almost 2 years with 7 speed manual. Does make noise in am when cold....told it's 5/6 syncro there is a TSB for it.....Manuals are being phased out and don't think you can order or find many around, i've had the window issue thing as well on occasion, nothing consistent yet. 21.5 MPG with the Sasquatch package as well

The recall for the wiper slow down issue takes less than a half an hour to complete, I'm a Ford technician (36 years now) and to tell you the truth there really hasn't been any huge problems that I've seen, the seven speed noise is one but there are very few manuals out there and I'll blame that on that transmission being made in China! :)

My wife's 22' 2 door 2.7l Badlands with sasq has almost 42k miles. Only things we've done is add steps to the rock rails, mods to the tie rods, 2" leveling on the front, 12k winch, and trail sight deletes.

We live on and drive on about 6-10 miles of gravel roads per day nearly every day and I believe we're up to 6 tiny rock chips now. Mud flaps look terrible imo. Still have the original windshield as well. I can almost promise you if he camps out on the complaint pages on FB and the Bronco 6g sites he'll talk himself out of buying one. Those places are for the complainers imo. Happy folks seldom chime in.

My '01 SD 6 speed has had growling noises since new at low speeds. It's never bothered me much :).

First World Problem - the biggest problem I have with the new 4-door Bronco living in snow country is the build up of road ice on the rear Sasquatch flares! This ice build up make the rear doors difficult to open and potentially can chip the paint off the part of the doors that follow the line of the flare. 2-doors don't have this issue.

Seems like the trans problem is a hit and miss QC issue. Makes sense given where the transmissions are being mfg/built. TSB to me is just, "You got caught on your short cut production". I had a 1993 Ford Ranger with the 5 speed trans. Ford thought it was a great idea to use rubber case plugs instead of aluminum to save a few pennies per transmission. The plugs would dry up, fall out, lose the fluid and dead transmission. Ford never covered the trans but the re-manufactured ones had aluminum plugs instead of rubber. Built Ford tough ended in 1980 when they went IFS over mono-beam.

Rear output shaft seal on the transfer case started leaking yesterday. 41k miles. Can't get it in until April 25th. It's a $50 part, would take me and hour to fix, but it's still under warranty lol......

From the little bit of reading I did yesterday, it's an pretty common issue.

probably the same seal that Heep used on the 1st gen wrangler rubicons. They were unique dimensions, with a unique balanced flange, took us a week of measuring, calculating and digging to come up with a suitable seal and flange that made everything normal off the shelf parts due to it being back ordered and failure prone. I could replace the seal, flange and slip yoke on the driveshaft cheaper than I could buy the seal......... crazyness.

I’ve had my 2 door Wildtrak 2.7 for all of one week. So far so good except the rocks in the tires. Broke the windshield 2 miles down the freeway from the dealer.
Apparently aside from the rock grabbing tires the windshield is pretty vertical therefore susceptible to rock damage.

I got a small ws chip that I had Safelite (Pueblo CO) fix a few weeks ago. I asked tham about new Broncos and ws problems and they said they were seeing 1 or 2 a week. But their best customers were Jeep Wranglers - 6 or 7 a week!
