So not a lot done apparently it’s monsoon season in Georgia.
We did make it to the super celebration. Had a great time and she got lots of ideas of how she wants it done now. Also got some parts including a good deal on a new 69-77 grill. It’s the wrong year but I can fix that. Don’t mind the mess the basement turns in to toss it storage lol.

Now it’s a 66 grill. And before anybody gets mad about cutting up a 66 grill it was to far gone to save I tried but it was bent from a wreck and rusted out from sitting in the weather. Think it turned out well some more welding and grinding and it will be ready for body work.

Driver side all welded up. Sectioning in the bottom of the taillight housing was a pain the reproduction was not exactly right.

Also got new hinge backing plates in on the driver side as well.

Tomorrow looks like more rain so going to work on the windshield frame that is bent. Its still square the glass was still in it and not broken, but one side was pushed down and welds broken on the lower part of the frame. I cut the lower section off and should be able to straighten the side post and get it welded back together tomorrow.

Kudos to you for saving a lot of original sheet metal! This is the kind of build I like to see!

Windshield frame seamed to straighten out alright. The glass lays flat in it and folds flat back on the body. Just need to check it with the door window frames.
While I am waiting on other parts I decided to open the next can of worms. The driver door needs a whole skin and some rot repair on the bottom. Going to work on the rot and clean up the inside before the skin gets here.

Not a lot of progress, working on home renovations, but got a little time today and got the rot repaired on the door frames.
If you can avoid it don’t use the door bottom repair panels. They are to big and the body lines are trash. Had to cut them up and use the least amount of them that I could get away with.

But the new skins fit great.

This is a fantastic build. I love seeing so much work poured into restoring original components. It’s a form of art. Excellent work!

Passenger quarter in, still have some work to do to get the rocker to fit right.

Started on the core support. There are some differences it looks like on how the later v8 core support fits. It doesn’t seam to sit as deep into the inner fenders. Did a mock up seams like it’s going to work just have to move some metal around to make it right.

Awesome build so far! Who’s quarters and taillight housing did you go with? I’m currently building a 66 but not really documenting it

For the quarters and tail light housings I used
www.c2cfabrication.com
The quarters were a decent fit. I had to work the section of taillight housing I used on both sides. They were to large to the point I could have overlapped the old metal. You can see in the picture of the driver side where i sectioned it right at the flange to the quarter. Probably took out less the 1/8”, but it made all the difference in fit.

This is by no means a concourse restoration so there are probably better parts out there, I’m just trying to work within a budget, my time with a cutting wheel and grinder are free so to speak.
