Cost is not too bad at all.
Definitely could be worst...

Seen this picture of an original Black Sport mat for a installed shot.
Ford's official documentation stated the base models switched from a black to a parchment mat in '77.

If that's the case, was there a scenario where a '77 would have come with a Black full 2 piece mat?
One advantage of a slow restoration. New products come out.
Looks like they did a good job on the mat's surface texture - now if they could just do a correct color, we'd have a winner!

I received my rear mat- the front is on back order ETA November at this point. Looks and feels really nice and the fitment is perfect. It is nice and thick and heavy. I do have an OEM ribbed undermat underneath along with two layers of peel and stick insulation. I would suggest getting one of those undermats to even out the bed ribs.
I have not installed the retainers yet. I’ll need to pull it back out to make way for the cage and then hopefully trim it up where the cage mounts to the floor. Expensive but worth it IMO given the quality.
Black was originally available in base models. I guess everyone ignored the link I posted above but it’s a thread on original mats and the numerous colors they were available in, not just Parchment.
I am aware, I have blue, orange, red, black and parchment. I just think parchment would be a popular color and more universal.
All that work and expense to set up, why not do the correct white color?
So the sport models had the parchment? And did you say someone is gonna make them?
